5 out of 5 eggsStill Running 5 Years Later

Pros: Great set of connectors, triple-channel, and the ability to run 2 PCIx cards at x16. Overall this board was a great value for cost and with a decent layout to boot.

Cons: The placement of the PCIx slots is a bit inconvenient in my case, and this board really shows its age these days without USB 3.0, but you really don't notice those things on a daily basis.

Other Thoughts: I built two machines with these boards in October 2009. Both are still running without issue, and have been turned on nearly 24x7 that entire time. ASUS puts together a quality, reliable product and that's why they are my go-to standard for all new builds.

1 out of 5 eggsmemory slots 4/6 not working

Pros: never would have thought asus product would fail so soon.

Cons: i had 6 memory ram with 2gb each for full 6 slots, 4 slots aren't working now. spent over $200 thinking i could use this for few years. i would never buy asus motherboard again....so unreliable....

Other Thoughts: i am kinda stuck now that i have to get another LGA1366 motherboard or throw away my i7 920 and upgrade both my motherboard and cpu since LGA 1366 are so outdated now... everything is LGA 1155/1150 with SATA 6....

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Lots of connections.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Bought this 3 years ago for my build. All the connections I needed at the time, including HDMI. A bit outdated now, wish it had USB 3.0 and such, but was a great deal at the time. My Dominator memory won't stay overclocked at the 1600spec not sure if it's a memory or motherboard issue, it always reverts, but still works.

5 out of 5 eggsOC'ed 3.8Ghz Avg. 36C Safe? 3yrs Running

Pros: Very stable and powerful once the overclock settings go through some trial and error. Doesn't overheat in a large well built case such as a LianLi. A good case with 6+ 120mm fans and 2x 120mm on the cpu cooling on air alone shouldn't be a problem. Even under load it stuggles to pass 79C when gaming and 87C when rendering. At the time the Nvidia GTX 295 was the fastest GFX card on the market so it still performs great in both gaming and rendering. 6 GB DDR3 Corairs XMS3 RAM. 1000W power supply and 4 hard drives this computer was built as a decent workstation and overall entertainment package. I praise Asus for building a strong affordable motherboard. I was told when I bought it that the board needed to be suited to a large case.

Cons: Takes some time to get the setting right to deliver the sort of power you desire.

2 out of 5 eggsSignificant SATA Controller Frustration

Pros: Powerful when working right.

Cons: Worked OK for about 9 months running 1 300GB WD boot drive and 2 1TB Seagate Barrracuda data drives. SATA controller started not reading multiple hard drives. Have RMA'd 2 times, replaced all drives and new operating system and still unstable.

2 out of 5 eggsshort circuit

Pros: very nice features, was very stable for almost 3yr. Goog look! nice layout

Cons: I bought this motherboard (spent 350$) and was very happy with it, until it fried. send it for RMA, but ASUS warranty didn't cover short circuit!!! this motherboard was never OC'd

1 out of 5 eggsRuns VERY hot

Pros: It did work when properly cooled.

Cons: This board runs VERY hot, even in a well vented case and without overclocking! ASUS includes a fan mounting kit, showing that they know this is an issue, yet they do not include a fan to mount. DO NOT BUY.

Other Thoughts: I have used a non-Deluxe version of the P6T and P6T SE which had no heat issues. I replaced this board a few months back with an EVGA 141-GT-E770-A1 that runs a lot cooler than the P6T Deluxe V2

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Sorry to hear about the issues. We hope the new board works fine for you.

Regards
