4 out of 5 eggsDecent for the price

Pros: Stable and works well for the price. Northbridge heatsink is surprisingly large (but still gets just as hot as any other G31)

Cons: Very few overclocking features. I could change CPU and RAM frequency, but there was absolutely nothing in the BIOS that would let me change or even VIEW voltages or RAM timings to make sure they were correct. I wouldn't use it for anything more than very basic overclocking; Gigabyte and ASUS G31 boards give much more in the OC department.

The CPU voltage regulation circuit uses 3 Phase power and only 6 transistors. ASUS' G31 board also has 6 transistors, but Gigabyte's G31 board has 9 transistors. More transistors = larger processor overclocking headroom and motherboard stability, for a small $7 extra.

It's missing a PCI-E x1 slot, but that's obvious from the pictures and most people don't use it anyway.

Other Thoughts: I overclock with every motherboard I buy, and the lack of OC features on this board will make me look elsewhere next time. Otherwise, it's a solid and reliable board, with a larger northbridge heatsink than other boards.

5 out of 5 eggsGood board so far!

Pros: Bought this to replace a flaky board in my mom's HP and it fired up with no problems what so ever. Works perfectly so far running Windows 7.

Cons: No complaints or problems as of yet!

Other Thoughts: MSI is a good name. I ran with an MSI board on an old computer of mine with no problems. As for the complaints from the few people getting dead boards, it's rare, but it happens with every brand. Switching stores where you order it from like the last reviewer isn't going to change that. Would buy MSI again.

5 out of 5 eggsCan't Complain

Pros: Works better than expected. Booted right up the 1st time.

Cons: None So Far

Other Thoughts: Used this MB as part of budget build. Used with an Intel E5300 (Pentium Dual Core) CPU and 2x1gb of kingston DDR2 667 (PC2-5300) & Windows 7 (32bit). Not Bad, Not Bad At All. Faster & Smoother running than I had expected.

Pros: Didn't explode.

Cons: Trash. Gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2L is much better, it gets all the way to the first boot screen before hanging.

Other Thoughts: Two mobo RMAs coming your way Newegg!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price, but ...

Pros: fast, modern (rebuilt an old Hp for cheap), stable once the right drivers and bios installed. 4 Sata headers, floppy drive connections, extra fan connections, parallel header. A good bridge between old and new tech.

Cons: Drivers on CD did not cut it. Had to go to each maker for new drivers (audio, Ethernet adapter). Parallel header on board, but no cable. Non-standard, so couldn't use the one from the previous motherboard. Have to mail order, $5 part, but cost $15 to get it. You also can't use all the audio inputs without the right case. Only one IDE header, so use 2 IDE devices max, but 4 SATA headers.

Other Thoughts: I got this to fix my dead auxiliary "web-surfing" machine in a cheap bundle with a dual-core Intel celeron. The machine (XP) is nice enough for everyday use. It needs a graphics card for games, and putting in a "hand me down" card sped up web surfing a bit more.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for builders on a budget.

Pros: Extremlt fast bo--- "Welcome, please
Enter your password."
Haha, but seriously. I pitted this thing against my workhorse msi x58 platinum a quad core at 3ghz and 6gb of ddr3.

Plenty of features. My ram was timed right.
This little mb booted before the other pc was halfway through posting.

Cons: I would like to see more sata ports. I have a case with esata on the front panel that's 1. Cd drive that's 2. And harddrive that's 3.
If I get a second harddrive that's all 4 spaces.

Other Thoughts: Best budget board around.

4 out of 5 eggsgood product

Pros: - very easy set up
- MSI frequently updates BIOS and this board is very well supported
- great board to update an IDE machine with to current day specs and save some cash
- no problems whatsoever with BIOS update, then ran first attempt
- win7x64 installs AOK with no additional drivers needed... completely seamless

Cons: - VGA dsub output, not DVI limits montiors down the road

Other Thoughts: got an openbox, was like new, worked great ... highly recommend product

5 out of 5 eggsVery good choice for the money

Pros: Worked immediately out of box. First tried with XP - had to install few drivers by myself (drivers included in CD). When switched to Win 7 it recognized all devices, no need for installation CD.

Cons: None so far.
