4 out of 5 eggsGood Case

This review is from: Rosewill THOR V2-W White Edition, Gaming ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Supports Up to E-ATX / XL-ATX, Comes with Four Fans

Pros: Large case. Can fit any and everything you can throw into it. Great cable management. Cooling is not an issue whatsoever. Looks pretty too with the build that I did.

Cons: I took an egg off because the motherboard standoffs were a real pain to put in because of the pain that was inside the standoff holes. I had to use a pair of pliers to get them twisted in right. (no it was not "cross threaded or twisted in at an angle.) (apparently I must say twisted instead of the proper terminology for installing a threaded piece of metal meant to hold something together....)

The motherboard standoff location numbers for putting the standoffs in the correct location for your motherboards form factor were incredibly hard to see. Mostly due to paint build up. I had to shine a light at an angle on them to somewhat see the shadow given off by the numbers indention.

One area of the corners was sharp. I wasn't cut but made me aware.

The top panel was rather stubborn on coming off so I could route the front IO panel wires correctly. Made me think I was going to tear off a tab that holds it onto the chassis.

Other Thoughts: I only took off one egg for the cons since really they were minor nuisances. I cannot really knock it too much because with the build that I have for it it is amazing. Over all it is a good case.

4 out of 5 eggsFull Review

This review is from: Rosewill THOR V2-W White Edition, Gaming ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Supports Up to E-ATX / XL-ATX, Comes with Four Fans

Pros: Ignore "pros" title
To start out this review I’d like to mention that overall I love this case even though there are a few issues with it as well. I would like to start out with the outside and work my way in, so without further ado I’ll begin with the LEDs on the front intake fan. As noticed by many other reviews, they lack noticeability. I can have them on without really knowing if they were functioning and for that reason I usually just keep them off using the button on the bottom right of the front panel. This leads me to the front IO. I really like the way it’s set up, but there are some things that I would like to have changed. The front IO has 2 USB 3.0 ports and 2 USB2.0 ports. There is front audio and also an eSATA port included. I would really like to see the implementation of 4 USB 3.0 ports on the front of the case because having USB 2.0 just seems silly due to the fact 3.0 is backwards compatible. Now to mention disassembly and plastic quality; the front panel is easily removable while I found the top panel to be extremely difficult to remove and replace. This could just be a minor issue with my case because I haven’t seen anything like this in reviews prior to purchase. The plastic quality of the Thor V2 was very disappointing especially with its hefty price tag. The plastic is rough with a gritty feel to it, not what I was expecting with the price I paid for the case. The side panels of the case aren’t bad, in fact I really like the hinge implementation and I think that the quality is there. The side panels have a bit of tolerance to allow screwing them back in (with included thumbscrews I might add) without making them feel cheap and flimsy. I do however have a small issue with the front side panel. The metal grate covering they use for the fan mount point is weak at the center and when it is pushed in, causes the fan mounted there to make a screeching sound so every now and then I have to undo the side panel and pop out the metal. This isn’t a huge deal because taking out the side panels are SO easy I can’t complain much but an annoyance non the least. One last thing I would like to mention about the case is a rattling noise. I’m not sure where this rattling is coming from but sure enough every time I have my computer on the rattling makes its presence known. I initially thought it was because my case was located on carpet making the rising feet useless so I took a wooden board and used it under my case so the feet would actually raise the case. This however didn’t fix the issue but I found that when I hear the noise I can wiggle around the case a bit from the bottom and the noise goes away for a little while. I really don’t know where the noise is resonating from but I have suspicions that it’s coming from the hard drive rails but I saw another review stating it was coming from the fan controllers on the front IO.
Now I would like to move to the inside of the case.

Cons: Ignore "cons" title
Now I would like to move to the inside of the case. I’ll start with the HDD bays. I like that they were easy to install didn't require anything but a Philips head. Because the drive bay slides out moving them for optimal SATA connections was really easy when cable management came around. The PSU mount had rubber feet to reduce vibrations and a foam lining around the back opening for the PSU. The foam lining is low quality and has started to peel off with only a few PSU removals and reinstalls for tinkering. But if you aren't like me and disassemble your computer often then that shouldn’t be an issue. Moving on to the motherboard mounts and rest of the inside relating to the motherboard installation. On a micro-ATX motherboard the mounts fit perfectly and there was no trouble installing but when I purchase a full ATX motherboard (Asus Z97-Pro (Wifi-ac)/USB3.1) I had a lot of trouble fitting it to the mount points. There was a lot of pushing and shoving but eventually the mount points were secure with screws and the motherboard felt really secured inside the case. I've seen this next issue with others but mine was not to the extreme as others. The way the motherboard fits into the case, leaving very little room between it and the expansion slots, caused my GFX Card to barely squeeze into place. In fact I used a flat head screwdriver to aid in the gap separation, which made me really uncomfortable because I didn't want to break anything but also wanted it to fit into place. Moving on to radiator support. I have seen a few reviews saying that the case does not support a radiator but I was able to fit a Corsair H100i very snugly inside my case (Top mounted, tubing on right side) without any issues other than it taking a while and the aid of another person but that’s a different story for another time. One very last thing to mention now is cable management. The included IO wires are plenty long enough and I had no issues with them whatsoever. There is about a 1/2- 1 inch behind the motherboard tray so hiding wires is EXTREMELY easy. It is so easy that I actually don’t touch anything that much once I clean up the front of the case, I just slap on the back side panel and call it a day. Now I think that about wraps up my review, overall this is a nice case but I think you should try to catch it on sale to make up for some of its flaws which ultimately are not detrimental but for sure are annoyances that should be avoided with a case in this price range. I’ll give this case 4 eggs but I think it really deserves a 4.3/5 because the issues with the case CAN and SHOULD be fixed, it’s just up to the manufacturers to identify their mistakes and correct them for their customers. I would recommend this case to another person and would most likely purchase again if it was on sale for a steal. Just in case you don’t make it to the end of this lengthy review I’ll put my rating at the top of the “essay.”

5 out of 5 eggsRosewill THOR V2-W

This review is from: Rosewill THOR V2-W White Edition, Gaming ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Supports Up to E-ATX / XL-ATX, Comes with Four Fans

Pros: The size is why I bought this case. More space inside insulates the components from immediate heat transfer, if, the air is changed fast by adequate fan action. This case is a design, perfect for my use.

Cons: 1 reluctant 230mm. side fan.

5 out of 5 eggsHuge Tower

This review is from: Rosewill THOR V2-W White Edition, Gaming ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Supports Up to E-ATX / XL-ATX, Comes with Four Fans

Pros: This tower is HUGE, I had plenty of space inside for all my hardware and still have plenty of room for any future upgrades I may want. I also love the space on the back side for cable management, they clearly put in a lot of thought when designing it. I also love how quiet it is, it barely hums even under heavy load in a totally quiet room.

Cons: As I mentioned before this tower is huge, I had to upgrade my desk and even then it just barely fits, but its totally worth all the working room.

4 out of 5 eggsMonster case

This review is from: Rosewill THOR V2-W White Edition, Gaming ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Supports Up to E-ATX / XL-ATX, Comes with Four Fans

Pros: Great case, great build design. Sturdy, this thing feels like a tank. After lugging it around to lans it has held up phenominally.

Cons: The wire routing areas feel a bit congested behind the storage drives.

Other Thoughts: Would buy Rosewill again with full confidence.

5 out of 5 eggsLots of space

This review is from: Rosewill THOR V2-W White Edition, Gaming ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Supports Up to E-ATX / XL-ATX, Comes with Four Fans

Pros: has an awesome fan system but I really get no change of fan speed with the knobs. so I put all but one fan on the mobo. panel in the front has all kinds of goodies.

Cons: like I said I had no luck with the fan speed knobs the fans are 12v but only the 5v gets used on the wires. so again I plugged them into the mobo luckily I have 3 chassis fans on board.
