Power Supply
- Pros: Style: looks great with the blue power led and orange hdd light around the power button. Good air flow and plenty of room to get your hands in the case. No sharp edges and a sturdy steel frame.
- Cons: My main gripe is the 150w power supply. It blew after one week because It couldn't push my components. The faceplate is plastic and the door for the optical drive seems pretty flimsy.
- Other Thoughts: I want to give this box 2 eggs for the weak psu, but it's my own fault for not checking the specs before buying this unit. If you get it, you should definitely get a 45w processor. I really like the ITX form factor, but the components are still too expensive with not much choice. I wish I would have gone with a Shuttle barebone instead.
My Build: Celeron 2.2 @65w 250 gig hdd @7200rpm DVD RW Optical drive 2x1 Gigs Kingston Hyper X RAM
- Pros: Great Looks, compact size. I had no trouble installing an Intel Itx motherboard. There is sufficient room for the board and your hands. It's shape allows for a full height expansion card too. In my case a wireless adapter. No need to hunt down a half height card.
- Cons: I would give it 5 eggs except there is no reset switch. I am going to have to drill a hole and mount my own. The door for the DVD, when open is in the way of the DVD switch. Its awkward to get my fat finger in there to get the tray to close.
- Other Thoughts: I built this for my grandson for his bedroom. It's small footprint is very nice when you're cramped for space.
Good looking, Low Price
- Pros: Very good looking case. Roomy for a small case too. I didn't have too much trouble installing the system. It made for a very simple build. The price isn't too bad either.
It came with clear instructions, and even included a couple of small zip ties for cable management. I was even able to install a laptop sized HDD without using an adapter. They installed the mobo standoffs for me.
The Power Supply came with more than enough plugs. The included fan is nice. All of the included cables are long enough. It isn't terribly loud at all.
- Cons: The case is not too bad at all. There a just a few little bits that are the difference between a $50 case and a $100 case. The DVD ROM cover seems like it could get stuck (I didn't install a DVD ROM in this build). Most of the sharp edges inside are rolled, but not all. The power button pushes in a bit crooked and doesn't pop back out smoothly. The USB connections in the front aren't the best looking.
The PCI expansion slot is has a blank cover over it. The cover sits loose and rattles when you move the case.
- Other Thoughts: This really is a good looking case. I would buy it again if I were looking for an inexpensive case in this size. However, if it were sitting beside my TV I would look for something with a little higher quality and different design.
