5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Case

This review is from: Rosewill BLACKHAWK Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, come with Five Fans, window side panel, top HDD dock - Retail

Pros: Case has tons of room
Good cable management
You can remove the hard drive cages for more space.
So many fans! Great airflow
Looks super slick
Great value

Cons: The removable hard drive adapters fit a 3.5 drive perfect, but they are really flimsy when empty, also screwing a 2.5 drive into one of those adapters is annoying because they are so deep.

Things get a little messy if you connect a lot of stuff to your front usb ports/audio. The front ports are located on the top of the case and they're flat facing down near the front. So you can end up with wires covering your DVD/CD drives and the front screen/grill when you connect a bunch of wired stuff there. Power/reset are still easily accessible though.

Other Thoughts: I went from a micro ATX to this mid, and the mid is huge in comparison, so consider the space you have available in/around your desk. Maybe look at the measurements for it. Had to knock a shelf out of my desk to fit it.

One of the fans makes a slight clicky noise in my case that is barely noticeable, but just enough to be noticeable sometimes. So your mileage may vary. Could be a simple fix, could unplug the fan causing this. Not major, but something to take note in case you suddenly hear a clicky noise that's driving you crazy.

Be careful when lifting up the case, the front screen detaches from the bottom and it doesn't take much force.

A critical review on this site criticized the screws that come with the case for securing your Motherboard to the case. I took the advice and just used the plain screws from the old case I was transferring my MB from. After troubleshooting why my bios wouldn't post in this new case for 3-4 hours I tried removing the screws and using the ones that came with the case instead. That fixed it. The screws that come with the case may cause damage if you have to remove your board a lot of times, but if you can't get your system up and running after installing everything consider using those screws that come with the case. You can replace them when you see fit. For some reason the old unpainted screws were shorting the MB in this case.

This review is from: Rosewill BLACKHAWK Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, come with Five Fans, window side panel, top HDD dock - Retail

Pros: Stable, stays cool, plenty of space.

Cons: Little too much space

Other Thoughts: I have an unknown chord translucent with 4 prongs. It has a red, yellow, and two black chords feeding into it. I need help identifying it.

1 out of 5 eggsBad Purchase

This review is from: Rosewill BLACKHAWK Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, come with Five Fans, window side panel, top HDD dock - Retail

Pros: None

Cons: Serial ATA cable running to front IO panel on case shorted out, and fried the whole computer except for the PSU, and HD.

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet, good case

This review is from: Rosewill BLACKHAWK Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, come with Five Fans, window side panel, top HDD dock - Retail

Pros: Good case, I was very surprise how quiet it is. No weird odors, very good quality. Fans works great, look nice. Easy to install and to tune to your needs.

Cons: A bit heavy, lots of cables sometimes hard to close the case since it is very tight on the back panel side.

Other Thoughts: Good to save the trouble to buy fans and instal em. Was easy to fit Corsair liquid cooling.

5 out of 5 eggsGood enough for low budgets

This review is from: Rosewill BLACKHAWK Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, come with Five Fans, window side panel, top HDD dock - Retail

Pros: Wow it's big, lots of room to load all kinds of extra toys. Like the easy dismount bays. Colour LED fans...I'm tripp'n. May not be the top of the line case but good enough for me The.Fans are really quiet.

Cons: well the plastic bay trays will snap if you are too ruff on them but you can get replacements for under $5

4 out of 5 eggsGood case

This review is from: Rosewill BLACKHAWK Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, come with Five Fans, window side panel, top HDD dock - Retail

Pros: Hot-swap dock, plenty of cooling, great layout and space

Cons: Not poorly made, but not expertly made either. Some parts are cheap, and don't fit well together.

Other Thoughts: I love the case, but there are downsides. The plastic slides for the hard drives are very cheaply made and I had to toss one out on arrival from being too badly warped. The back panel on mine fits so tight together that I literally need a screwdriver and a hammer to get it off. Granted you rarely need to take this panel off, but it's ridiculous that this much force is needed. So it's made "good", but not with precision. The hot-swap dock is awesome, I use it all the time. Despite the failure in manufacturing I would recommend this case - I doubt all will have the same issues I had.

3 out of 5 eggsGood value, but not an easy build

This review is from: Rosewill BLACKHAWK Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, come with Five Fans, window side panel, top HDD dock - Retail

Pros: Excellent value, removable drive cages, 10 fan placement options, excellent airflow. Put two quality 140mm fans in the top and two 120mm fans in the front and you won't have any heat issues.

Cons: A few corners were cut in craftsmanship and design.
Included fans are low-mid quality.
Not a lot of room behind the motherboard tray for cable management.
Annoying to remove unneeded drive cages - half of the cage remains and blocks the front fans.
The top plastic is brittle and you'll break some of the alignment pins if you aren't careful.
The top plastic is secured poorly and will block the removal of the side doors unless lifted.

Other Thoughts: If you nearly max out the fan options, you'll be able to run them pretty slowly and this case gets nearly silent. I'm two using Corsair 140mm fans on the top and 3 Corsair 120mm fans, two in front and one blowing in from the rear across the H60 radiator. This case stays incredibly cool and seriously moves air out the top. Rosewill have definitely listened to critical reviews of past revisions and made improvements where it could.

That said, it can be a bit tricky to build and cable management behind the motherboard is extremely tight, causing the back door to bow out. I'm happy with it now that it's done being built, but I'd probably choose something a bit more expensive next time.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic case

This review is from: Rosewill BLACKHAWK Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, come with Five Fans, window side panel, top HDD dock - Retail

Pros: Rosewill is hit or miss with their products, but this one, and their lightning power supply are stellar. The case is working great for everything I need. And the dock is still working! Almost a year now.

MSI MPower board, with an i-7. GTX 780, two SSD's and 2 HDD's. 1 ODD. All ram slots filled and an H100i in there (which needed some work - See other thoughts).

Cons: Had to do a little cutting to get the H100i to fit.

Other Thoughts: So this thing says it fits the H100i. Well yes, it does, without any fans. But there are a few YouTube videos showing you how to do some mods to the top (get some tin snips) to make it fit. And there is a dust cover that will cover up the ugly mess you'll make.

I can't find a fan that would fit on the inside of the back of the case. So I just attached a 120 to the back of the case and it does a good job pulling heat away from the back of the processor/MB when overclocked.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's a killer case

This review is from: Rosewill BLACKHAWK Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, come with Five Fans, window side panel, top HDD dock - Retail

Pros: First off there is 5 fans. 2x120mm fans are at the face of the case to cool your hard drives. 1x120mm at the side window to cool your cpu and graphics card/cards. 1x120mm at the upper back, and 1x240mm on top. I also added 3x120mm cougar fans and I still have 2 more fan mounting areas still unused. This case has good air flow at the bottom for the p/u due to the elevated base. Plenty of room for graphic cards with additional room if you remove some of the internal drive bays. My R9 fits easily without any drive bay changes. Easy lock/release on the 5.25 internal bays . Wiring is easy with all the access points so the only wires I show are from the fans to the mobo. Open venting at back of mobo mount for air intake. Seems pretty durable since I kick it around 10 times per day. All in all, it's a great case.

Cons: I don't care for the black interior. Wish it was a light color due to the black paint acting like a sponge to any light source.

Other Thoughts: I've had this case since Christmas of 2013, it's Oct 18, 2014 now. No problems or issues to date.
