Vantec Tornado 80mm Double Ball Bearing High Air Flow Case Fan - Model TD8038H

Pros: WOW this thing moves a lot of air! I had no idea that an 80mm fan could be this effective. I am VERY impressed.

Cons: Loudness is not a con for this fan... it's what you're paying for. If you want a quiet fan then why in the world are you looking at an 80+ CFM 80mm fan? Also, if you have a fan controller - this fan isn't really that loud except at max RPM.

Overall Review: You think you know, but you have no idea how loud 55+ dBa sounds blowing in your case. I have a Silverstone FM-121 and a Scythe Ultra Kaze in my case, along with an XFX BE 7970. This fan at max RPM drowns out all three of those at max RPM combined. A fan controller is an absolute MUST for this fan. I use it as a side exhaust over my 7970 and only turn this fan on when I'm playing games with a high overclock on the card. You need to use headphones or crank the volume up when using this fan and gaming... then it's no problem.

Pros: Moves crazy air, I've got it blowing on my x1900xtx which doesn't go over 65C overclocked. There is also a 92mm version of this fan that moves EVEN MORE air, but I didn't have room for it. Also, from what I've seen and read, it is a very high quality fan and should last a long time.

Cons: I got POed after reading people complaining about noise. The name of this fan is the tornado. Decibals are clearly advertised. There are 200+ reviews that state the fan is 'loud.' If noise bothers you, GET A FAN CONTROLLER or, better yet, BUY A DIFFERENT FAN. 95% of fans are designed for low noise. Take your pick.

Overall Review: I bet these are the same people who complain about ride stiffness in sports cars. BTW, noise isn't that bad, I have it running 100% at all times, roommate doesn't even mind. It's got the same pitch as a hairdryer but not nearly the volume.

Pros: I have 8 of these running in a large server case... 4 drawing air in, 4 exhaust'ing... I have items flying from across the room as if there's a singularity forming inside the case. Nah, but seriously - Great fan, tons of airflow.

Cons: If noise is a concern, I'd definitely find yourself a fan speed controller.

Comments: This fan has amazing preformance (119cfs!!!!!) for its size (which, by the way, is meant for heatsinks) . However, it is VERY loud and can be very distracting. During gaming this really isn't an issue, but when you are typing/working it is a pain. But this + thermaltake copper heatsinkl keep my cpu at 20*C on idle :))))!!!

Pros: It pushes air, ummm scratch that... it shoves air! Like the others have said, this fan is a beast, so don't complain about the noise. You read the cfm specs before you bought?

Cons: Can't use it as a hair dryer! Can't use it to terrorize small children and pets!

Overall Review: If you want to tame this beast, buy a fan controller. Do folks even read specs anymore? High cfm = sound at default speed.

Overall Review: I have had this for a year now and it works great. Please read the review of INDUSTRIAL GRADE COOLING. That person hits it on the nail. I wanted to upload a video to kinda give a idea of the power behind this fan. ( don't mind the dust I haven't cleaned in a while) This fan is used when I play games. It cools 2 8800 GTX in SLI as well as everything else. It even brings my cpu temp down to a cool 29deg c no load. I hooked the toggle switch for easy on and off. I could have done maybe a speed controller but this is what I had in my garage. I might up grade it one day.

Pros: Put 2 of these on my Sherco 450 enduro motorcycles radiators and they have completely solve the over heating issues I was having , man they move some air , they don't mind water dust or heat . Fantastic item

Pros: Moves a LOT of air. I mean, 92mm at ~5000rpm moving 110CFM. It's extremely powerful, and will work terrific at sucking out of a small custom case I'm building.

Cons: Noise and power draw. But I'm not complaining, I knew this before I bought it. If noise is a factor at all I wouldn't recommend it, you might as well get a lower rpm or larger diameter fan than waste energy turning this one down. And you should of known it was gonna be loud before you bought it.

Overall Review: Uses ~12-15W at full load. Noise perpendicular to fan/air flow at full load is: 54dB at 3ft 63dB at 1 ft And at least 3dB higher (twice as loud) when measured in line with air flow.
