Great, except it doesn't opensource. 9/26/2019 3:55:30 AM

Pros: Works.

Cons: It's incompatible with OpenWRT, DD-WRT, and Tomato. There are ones that are similar and in the same family; but that doesn't help any when flashing firmware. I'd be more willing to accept fault, but there are AFAIK 2 other families of router that share similar names. c50 and the c5 and 7. neither of those are this router.

Overall Review: 0/5 wouldn't recommend; If you're a gamer on a budget, hey, it's great. Until you want to actually care about what you're running on your network.

Pros: Seemed pretty easy to configure altho I couldn't get Tether app to work.

Seems to be working well and range seems good.

Cons: Tether app wouldn't download.

Overall Review: I would recommend this router, and definitely recommend New Egg.

Beware! Routers Stop Working After Less Than One Year! 4/24/2019 1:13:58 PM

Pros: When routers are functional, they work.

Cons: Router only good for less than one year.

Overall Review: Very disappointed since I have used this product before and was recommended by two computer techies. In March and April of 2018, I purchased seven routers for my two apartment buildings. In the last two months, two have stopped working completely. Found them dead, turned the power switch on and off. Power light comes on for twenty seconds and then unit dies again. Tried hitting reset button with the same results. I will start searching for a new manufacturer.

Pros: I have 3 smartphones, 2 laptops, 2 security cameras connected to it via wireless,. Smartphones and cameras are connected 24/7. Laptops are connected during the waking hours. I also have the following wired devices connected: 5 desktops, 1 laser printer, two 5-port gigabit switches, and a cable modem. The switches and modem are also TP-Link. We never have any connection problems wireless or otherwise. The TP-Link network products have worked flawlessly. Modem was purchased 10/2016, switches in 12/2010 and 10/2018, and this router in 1/2019. Even my old TP-Link products I replaced with these faster products worked great.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: Archer C1200 v2.0, Firmware 2.0.2 Build 20180117 rel.70858.

I stopped buying all the other popular brands of networking equipment long ago due to regular problem and needing to run 3rd party software to fix them. Too much messing around when it should just work.

If one is having connection issues they also need to consider that the device may have issues and not the AP/router. There are a lot of poorly designed network client hardware and firmware/drivers.

Pros: Easy to setup and works by meeting my expectations.

Cons: A little large, compared to the unit it replaced.

Overall Review: The gigabit switch was the most important feature, while maintaining the ability to use WiFi. For the price, this delivered very good value.

Simple Setup, Good Value, Router is warm/hot 3/1/2019 4:47:52 PM

Pros: - Good value at 39.99 and free shipping
- Simple setup menu, like other WiFi router
- Router is V1 but has Tx beam forming

Cons: - Router is V1 and not the latest V3, world largest river site has V3
- Router operating, temperature is warm to hot, especially the middle of unit
- Router reboot every so often, once per week, probably due to warm/hot issue
- Additional cost to cool the router, albeit $5, but it's sub-par engineering & QA
- No firmware update from TP-Link since January 2018, hopefully not EOL item

Overall Review: - Solved warm/hot issue with purchased of USB folding fan on auction site, $5, place router on top
- Turn on NAT boosting to get internet speed greater than 100Mbps, otherwise, speed at 100Mbps

Cons: everything

Overall Review: Just got off the phone with TP-Link support, trying to get an RMA. They want me to reconnect the bad router so they can "troubleshoot" to make sure the problem isn't somewhere else. I'm currently using an old Linksys BEFSR41 that works fine, so the problem is definitely the TP-Link router. I can't understand the Chinese (I assume) tech support people, so that's not helping matters any. I will never again buy another TP-Link product. I'm almost ready to eat the $50 I paid, and forget trying to get a replacement. It's just not worth the hassle. Do yourself a favor and go with another brand.
