The Pro-Tek™ Rotating Case for iPad Air® (5th/4th Gen) 10.9-inch and iPad Pro® 11-inch (3rd, 2nd, and 1st Gen) delivers practical protection and adaptable good looks with Targus signature geometric Pro-Tek™ design. Rugged corner bumpers add impact protection. A custom-molded interior tray with enhanced corners defends against damage. The magnetic wrap closure secures and safeguards on-the-go. And, like other Targus cases, it offers military grade protection for drops up to 4 feet.
Chameleon-like adaptability lets you adjust with ease to meet your needs. A simple flip transforms your case into a sturdy stand for comfortable typing. Flip again for easy viewing, with smooth rotation from portrait-to-landscape positioning. Your ideal viewing angle is assured thanks to varying options. Deep grooves anchor the edge to ensure stability. Precision cutouts offer easy access to your controls, ports, and camera. Even your audio gets a boost with audio scoops that deflect sound toward the user. And your Apple Pencil® or stylus is always at-the-ready thanks to the convenient integrated loop.
Swipe or Type with Ease
The textured, non-slip interior lets you position your iPad® in a range of reading or viewing angles for watching videos or interacting with your screen or flip the cover back for a comfortable typing angle.
Military Grade Drop Protection
Minor drops and bumps are no problem for this sturdy, structured case. In fact, the case passes rigorous MIL-STD 810G testing to ensure it can protect your iPad Air® from drops up to four feet.
Easy Portrait and Landscape Viewing
Patented 360-degree rotation makes it easy to switch from portrait to landscape modes and back again and use the stand function in either mode. That way, video conferences and FaceTime® arent locked into landscape mode.
Full Access, Full Functionality
A full-coverage patented molded tray with reinforced corners allows access to all ports, buttons, and controls. Precision cutouts ensure the camera is accessible for photos or videos without removing your iPad Pro® from the case.

The Targus Pro-Tek THZ866GL is a rugged rotating folio case for compatible 10.9-inch iPad Air (4th- and 5th-generation) and 11-inch iPad Pro models, suited to users who want drop-tested protection and flexible viewing or typing positions.
Recommended For
- People who switch between portrait and landscape for reading, video calls, or presenting; the rotating tray lets them change orientation while the case is propped up.
- People who carry an iPad between work, school, or shared-use settings and want a folio with reinforced corners and drop-tested protection for everyday bumps.
- People who often watch or read hands-free and want adjustable stand positions for viewing or typing on a desk or table.
- Apple Pencil or stylus owners who want a built-in place to keep the writing tool with the iPad when carrying it.
Real-World Use Scenarios
- For video calls or FaceTime, rotate the iPad between portrait and landscape and set it on the stand; the case supports both orientations without needing to remove the tablet.
- When watching videos or following a recipe at a desk or counter, prop up the iPad at a comfortable viewing angle; the case’s stand and sound-directing design keep the screen and audio aimed toward the user.
- For replying to messages or writing short notes on a table, fold the cover into its typing position; it gives the iPad a supported angle for tapping or using an on-screen keyboard.
- When carrying the iPad between home, school, or work, close the magnetic cover to help keep it secured; the molded tray and reinforced corners are designed to help protect it from bumps and drops.
- For reading or taking handwritten notes with a compatible stylus, use the built-in holder to keep the pen with the iPad when moving between tasks; the stylus is not included.
