Enable CSM in Bios, Not UEFI Compliant8/21/2021 7:26:00 PM
Pros: Works after you figure how to install.
Cons: No reference to not being UEFI compliant. On board Asmedia controller needed "Third Party Sata" enabled. But this Jmicro controller did not show up till I enabled CSM.
I tried to install an Asmedia controller, but it did not work. That may have been result of conflict with onboard Asmedia chip. ? ? ?
Why am I installing sata controller? Because each M.2 nvme took away 2 sata.
Overall Review: On 3 year old X170 , bios had CSM upfront, but with Z590 Bios, CSM hidden on last page on very bottom line, the only line you needed to scroll to see. It was not mentioned in bios setup chapter. Next year they might completely remove it.
Pros: Easy and simple installation in a typical PC case.
Runs just find with Debian 11.3 (Bullseye) and 5.10 kernel.
Cons: Bright LEDs light up the case unnecessarily. And, really, that's a nitpick.
Overall Review: Recommended.

Great for minimal use2/19/2022 6:59:52 AM
Cons: - Simple installation, bright LEDs, came with SATA cables
- Throws tons of errors during extended usage periods, like when preclearing a disk with Unraid.
Overall Review: Shoddy. Avoid.

Pros: Excellent purchase. Easy to install, no drivers required or necessary with Win10 64-bit, and it booted up fine and the drive attached to one of the sata3 ports did show it was running at 6gbps speed! Very nice indeed. High recommend.
Cons: none

It works. No drivers needed4/8/2021 2:35:23 PM
Pros: I plugged it into the motherboard. Plugged in the sata drives I needed it for, turned on the machine and it worked. I didn't have to screw around with anything, it just worked.I think I will buy another one.
Overall Review: If you need more SATA ports and you have a free PCIe slot, this is what you need
Overall Review: I needed 2 extra SATA III ports. My Gigabyte G1.Sniper Z97 motherboard had PCIex1 R2, and PCIex16 R3. I installed it in the PCIex16 (running as x8) just so that the PCIe versions matched. After doing some bench tests the 2 Samsung EVO 850 500GB SSDs are performing with transfer speeds of 520MB/Sec. I would recommend this product.
