Works well, but a little tough to install11/19/2021 10:41:01 AM
Pros: - Works well once installed
- Plenty of options to attach different displays
Cons: - Installation instructions dont give you a lot of help on attaching to wall
- Attaching the display to the mount is a two person job
- Awkward to attach to any hole pattern except 200mm square
Overall Review: I bought one of these mounts to attach my 48 inch TV to a standard wood frame wall. The installation instructions were mostly straightforward, but offered no help on how to attach the mount to the wall. I had to figure that out mostly on my own. It was fairly straightforward, but that was a precarious experience. The attachment arm system for VESA hole patterns larger than 200mm square is also a bit awkward and allows some tilting of the TV left and right even after its fully tightened down. In addition, you need two people to attach the TV to the mount, one to hold the TV and the other to tighten the screws. [Update: you actually don't, I just didn't understand the instructions. You can remove the VESA mounting plate from the wall arm, attach it with the TV lying on the floor or a table, then hook the mounting plate back onto the wall arm with only one person.]
I would buy this again because it works well and feels pretty solid once installed, but the installation process isnt as easy as Id like. [Update: I did buy this again, twice, and subsequent installations were much easier. Upgraded my review to 5 stars. You're a little bit on your own for the wall attachment, so you need some understanding and the right tools (a stud finder is invaluable for a wood frame wall, and of course you need to drill pilot holes for the wall screws), but otherwise this is easy to use and is still doing great a year later.]
All the nuts and bolts you could possibly need1/19/2021 3:56:31 PM
Pros: - Impressively close to the wall.
- Excellent seletion of mounting hardware included for... most anything.
- Really clear and simple instructions.
- Being able to slide left to right after mounting for precise adjustment is really nice.
Cons: I don't think the included self level included worked well for me, ended up adjusting with a separate level.
Overall Review: Used this to mount an LG 43ud79 above a shallow desk and it has worked far better than I expected. Can't see the side rails, there's no need to add the plastic side pieces if you want it a little narrower. Despite some suggestings I'd seen on the internet that using the VESA mounts on this monitor would require cutting away at the plastic back, the included longer screws, spacers, and mounting style meant I didn't have to do that with this mount. Also haven't been using the locking bar so I can easily tilt the monitor to access the ports underneath, it stays very steady while I'm doing that..
Pros: Great price
Amazingly clear instructions
Enough hardware for any use case I could imagine
Sturdy
Cons: None
Overall Review: I had heard great things about StarTech, so my expectations were pretty high - but this still exceeded them. This was used for a large monitor installation in a commercial space, which I had never before done. The instructions were professionally done and made installation dead simple. It even came with a snap-in level! All in all, the best mount I've ever used!
Pros: Sturdy, stable with a 65" TV. Rolls easily and just the right size to navigate through doors. The shipment was prompt and the price was good relative to retail. The unit is expensive, but the quality is high.
Cons: Will be adding some hooks for holding cables, adapters and remotes but that is user preference. The lower shelf is quite small.
Overall Review: Highly recommend.
Though instructions were quite good, we installed the legs backwards at first and realized that only after we mounted the TV. We had to unmount and switch the legs with the stand on its side. Be sure the short side of the legs are to the back. The tension adjustment to balance the TV weight is a great feature, but the description of turning clockwise/counter-clockwise is not helpful because the directions are opposite if you are in front or behind the unit. The directions apply if you are standing in front, but the screw is in the back so we turned the wrong way a long time. Follow the + and - symbols molded into the metal, and turn in the + direction to increase tension if the TV falls after you raise it and release it.
Pros: - Works well once installed - Plenty of options to attach different displays
Cons: - Installation instructions dont give you a lot of help on attaching to wall - Attaching the display to the mount is a two person job - Awkward to attach to any hole pattern except 200mm square
