Silverstone FF143B 140mm Ultra Fine Fan Filter with Magnet (Black)

Pros: Awesome, purely awesome. this newest design is much improved from the version that precedes it; now the ENTIRE FRAME is magnetized! I just installed one of these upside down on the bottom of my case, to cover a 120mm opening for an intake fan, and it sticks to the case perfectly, even with the nubby heads of the 4 rubber fan mounts protruding out into it! And its sooo thin... You could fit one of these virtually anywhere, anyway you want. And the mesh is SO FINE that when I first looked at it, I couldn't even see it!

Cons: the screen is somewhat delicate, but as long as you don't bend or twist it excessively, or manage to puncture it with something sharp, it should withstand normal usage. If it does anything funny or if I notice any degradation, I will post an update

Overall Review: First, Silverstone made the honeycomb-style filter, and it was great. Then they made the magnetized star filter, and it was even better. Now, I dare say that they have made the ULTIMATE fan filter. This filter is tri-layered; one side of the frame is ultra-thin plastic, the other(magnetized) side is ultra-thin steel, and the screen is almost seamlessly sandwiched between the two.

Overall Review: I bought this just to try it out. I have a dog, a very hairy dog that stays in my room most of the time, so my computer gets dusty really quick. I usually dust out my computer once every 2 weeks, if not sooner, because of the amount of dust and hair that gets inside. The magnets are very weak, but double sided tape fixed this. I have had this filter on for 3 weeks now, and my computer looks like I dusted it just days ago. I say in another week or so, I will need to dust it out, big improvement tho. Regardless, I have to clean the filter every other day, it does it's job well. I recommend this product.

Pros: You take it out of its envelope. You throw it at a hole in your case. It sticks. Dust stops coming in.

Cons: It's always there, looking at you, judging how unclean your room is.

Overall Review: Not a con, but it may be a little bent depending on how its handled by the post. Just bend it back into its square shape and stick it on your computer, it will come back into its normal shape. Magnet takes a few seconds to start working, once it does it stays there. Weird, but I don't care, since end result is good.

Pros: Very nice filter, I'm a smoker and these catch most of it, other filters didn't. The screen is so fine it's see-through, which makes it easy to see when it's getting clogged with dust. The magnetized frame works well and makes cleaning fast & easy, and with care should last for years.

Cons: On cases which use rubber grommets in enlarged holes to mount 120/140 mm fans, these won't work unless you cut the corners off (not recommended) or remove the grommets and screw the filters to the case/fan, which is what I did, so now I just remove the side panel and blow out the filters with compressed air.

Overall Review: I hope these last a long time, because they are pricey.

Overall Review: This is great. I have a define r5 and this filter are very porous. You need this to filter out what is let through.

Pros: Nice quality, seems to impede airflow less than other filters, magnetic base makes it easy to stick in place, has standard 140mm screw holes in case a more permanent installation is desired. It's Silverstone-- I've yet to be disappointed by something of theirs. The mesh is actually black, not white as it appears in the photos, which is a plus to me. It has a low-key appearance. Two of these were perfect to cover the 140mm x 280mm vent/fan locations on the side panel of my case (I have them on the inside, but they would work on the outside too, if that is your wish). I've grown tired of masses of dust (and pet hair) collecting inside my computer (and clogging the CPU heat sink), and while it has not been long enough for dust to build up since I installed this filter, I am confident the FF143B will do a lot to keep it clean inside. My PC is a high-heat overclocked gaming machine, and even with all of the air inlets filtered, temperatures are quite good under stress testing. In games, CPU and GPU temps hover around 50C.

Cons: The only con I can think of is the price. You can get other styles of 140mm filters for less, but some of them won't fit two fan locations that have no space between them (the foam type filters with the 2 piece plastic frame, for example), and they have a sort of "cheap" look to them. They also impede airflow more than this product.

Overall Review: I know that magnets and PCs seem like a bad match (the hard drive, mainly), but the magnets in these filters are not strong enough to harm anything. Hard drives contain rare-earth magnets that are so strong that you'd have a hard time getting one off of your refrigerator-- by comparison, this product's magnetic quality is more like a refrigerator magnet.

Pros: Used this to cover a GPU fan intake; it attached well and I've had no problems, and I imagine the system is getting less dust inside.

Cons: I wish it were a bit cheaper, but I guess it can't be helped.

Overall Review: Not a whole lot to say, other than it's exactly what you'd expect. I have multiple German Shepherds in my household, so a filter cover is an absolute must have for any fan intakes on my system. This has caught a substantial amount of dust, dirt, and dander that would otherwise have gone into my system. Definitely suggested if you're looking for an easy to remove magnetic dust filter.
