Pros: Worked as a drop in replacement for ST6000NM0014 on LSI MegaRAID 9361-8i Firmware Package Build = 24.3.0-0050
Firmware Version = 4.230.20-3532 inside a Supermicro w/dual-channel backplane.
Cons: There are no cons with this item.
Overall Review: If you don't know what enterprise grade, SAS, or 4K blocks are, just stay away so you don't write a bad review of it because of your ignorance.
Pros: - Recognized by LSI 9300-8e SAS card and FreeBSD 11 mpr driver, including problem-free recognition of sector size (the driver reports 1465130646 4096 byte sectors)
- Reasonably large capacity
Cons: Somewhat expensive, but that comes with the territory when dealing with SAS drives
Overall Review: - I haven't had these drives for long, and I only have two of them, so I can't speak to their reliability
- My drives are only operating at 6Gb/s, but I'm fairly sure that's a limitation of the enclosure I've installed them in, not an issue with the drives themselves
Do not buy unless you have the latest Raid contoller with 4Kn SAS4/17/2017 11:51:01 AM
Pros: None -- Drives not recognized on a dozen different raid cards. Asked Seagate for a list of compatible cards--no help. Told me to call motherboard manufacturer. It's a server with LSI dedicated controller cards.
By with Caution non standard interface1/17/2018 4:55:02 PM
Pros: Haven't been able to use the them.
Cons: I purchased 2 of these drives about 2 months before building a new PC. I intended on copying my data to these drives before starting the new build. I wasn't quick to copy the data to them to my surprise they are non SATA interface so I was never able to connect to them, now I am not even sure a 350 dollar raid card will even support this type of drive. I have 2 of these for sale . Never knew to look for something other than a SATA connector. Stay away.
