Small size. Giant impact.

The Radeon R9 Nano is AMD's new high-end GPU that delivers exceptional power in a tiny form factor. It's based on the new Fiji GPU, and massively boasts 4096 stream processors – the same as its sibling R9 Fury X - for amazing graphics power to render the hot titles at 4k with high detail settings. It also incorporates AMD-pioneered High-Bandwidth Memory (HBM), a groundbreaking stacked memory solution that offers incredible 4096-bit memory bus, plus lower voltage and smaller footprint compared to the traditional GDDR5 memory. The result is the highest AMD GPU memory bandwidth ever, lower power consumption and a reduced card length. A rich array of AMD GPU technologies offer more than one way to elevate your gaming experience, like AMD Freesync Technology for smooth, tear-free gaming, Frame Rate Target Control (FRTC) for less power consumption by limiting the target frame rate, and Virtual Super Resolution (VSR) that delivers brilliant 4K experience, even on a 1080p display.

In addition to impressive performance, the Radeon R9 Nano will astonish you with its tiny form factor. Measuring merely 6-inch long, 40% shorter than Radeon R9 290X, the Radeon R9 Nano is a great choice for compact systems and HTPCs while still providing elite-class performance. It also operates at 175W typical TPD, promoting less noise and extended lifespan.

AMD TrueAudio technology empowers game developers with a programmable audio pipeline on the GPU, inviting them to put their unique artistic fingerprint on in-game audio in the same way that the programmable graphics pipeline brought unfettered artistic vision to PC graphics. Enabled games can feature more realistic environmental dynamics, a richer tapestry of sound effects, breathtaking directional audio and more. AMD TrueAudio technology enhances audio realism by simulating the human brain’s perception of real-world sound, working in concert with the user’s existing audio hardware to recreate a lifelike experience.

Killer Card 6/4/2016 11:13:59 AM

Pros: I have three of these in CrossfireX, At the moment i can run any new game at 60 fps, same as my monitors. im a happy camper.

Cons: These cards get very hot being so close together, put a 230mm fan on them now the temps dont go above 50c

Overall Review: If you want to run CrossfireX , these are the cards to get .

Great size / performance 6/1/2016 5:53:31 AM

Pros: small and powerful, fit perfectly in my new build

Cons: first unit was wonky and failed...fortunately Newegg eventually RMA'd the unit without need of going back thru manufacturer - btw, manufacturer was VERY supportive as fear of buying.

Overall Review: I would definitely watch the initial return period if you're doing a new build bc you might fall outside of the window you have....BUT....when you have reputable companies you're buying from such as Newegg there's no fear. Special thanks to Hugh at Newegg for taking ownership and solving this issue.

Awesome in SLI! 3/30/2016 11:37:15 AM

Pros: No noise, I get great performance run Fallout 4, Witcher 3, BF4 Ultra settings all around in 4k with a Micro ATX build. If you are looking to build a small form gamer these cards are everything you will need. My computer is almost completely silent i cant even tell if it is on most the time.

Cons: Not a single problem 4 months in now and i would highly recommend these cards to anyone wanting to build a LAN box gaming machine.

Overall Review: Make sure your PCI Express/ card bays case have enough room at bottom of case since the cards face down i had to remove the back face plate on bottom card but again not that big a deal and not the cards fault, my corsair Mini ITX case slot was too low.

Awesome Technology 3/15/2016 3:37:52 AM

Pros: Bought the card to maximize a 4k monitor. But I let my son try it on his computer that he uses; Virtual Environments, Music Arrangements, Detailed Artwork, Simulations, and Competitive Online Gaming. His computer runs multiple 120hz monitors. He doesn't want to go back to his prior video card. With this one, everything functions much better. Some of that credit must go to the HBM memory system. I will buy more cards in the series. This card is so good I bought another one for me!

Cons: Drivers are new, and in time will be better.

Overall Review: The computer testing this card runs 32GB of ram memory. The lower TDP is excellent, and keeps the rooms with hard running computers more comfortable. The ITX cases I use, can accept 2 slot video cards, and any power supply, so being compact is good, but not required. I have been using AIO cooling systems. But I may buy a cooling block with the next card I buy, and build a custom liquid cooled system.

Buyer beware 1/18/2016 5:11:57 PM

Pros: runs mirrors edge at 400fps

Cons: only runs for 30 minutes before artifacts set in. I'm on my second replacement card (third card total)and 30 minutes is the longest any of them have gone before starting to artifact. I'm guessing there was a bad run of these or something. going to try to get my money back at this point, but I'm not hopeful considering the policy on the card doesn't cover returns. buyer beware.

Know the Score 11/7/2015 11:29:06 PM

Pros: The card is simple and compact. The card is energy efficient. The card seriously kicks tail when it comes to virtual graphics. Super duper high bandwidth... who knows what the card can really do at this point??? Water blocks are starting to pop up for this model so this is a great card to build around with a custom loop. Score.

Cons: Runs hot.. this is just something that you need to accept and adapt to. Is still compatible with AMD R7 APUs but there are some driver issues with Windows 10 (in my experience so far). I sorta think this is a problem for a card that is being marketed to ITX builders since most are FM2+ sockets on the AMD side. Intel CPUs maybe a different story... but thats none of my business.... yet.

Overall Review: Coil whine only happens for users that do not utilize the correct R9 chips that synch with power supply to keep the card from making noises. Ignore the coil whiners... they aren't doing their homework. Great card... future is bright for those who take the leap.

Terrible coil whine 10/14/2015 7:57:48 PM

Pros: Well. Tried one card. Had terrible whine so RMA'd for another. Second card just as loud as the first. Beautiful tiny an well built card but completely ruined by the coil whine. It's not fixable either with locking framerate s to specific refresh rates like some other cards. Tried several different motherboards and power supplies but couldn't get rid of it.

Cons: "Coil noise or coil whine is a phenomenon in electronics which produces undesirable audible sound". This is just unacceptable on an 870.00 card. The reviews warned of this problem but I hoped the retail units would be better.

Overall Review: Sent both cards back. Will maybe try a different brand as I really like the form factor but worried all of them suffer from unacceptable whine. Not enough user reviews. Need other buyers input.

Had high expectations 9/17/2015 7:00:00 AM

Pros: Small size. Perfect for ITX builds
low power consumption
Better performance than my GTX 980 Ref

Cons: No HDMI 2.0
Does not support Miracast. GTX 970 + 980 do.

Overall Review: I have a 144hz monitor with dvi and hdmi ports only. After switching to this card from a GTX 980, I realized I cannot get 144hz with the equipment I had. The HDMI out does not support 144hz and my passive DVI-to-Displayport adapter does not either. I read that I would need an active adapter which is another $100.

I will probably upgrade my monitor sooner than I expected.
