Pros: Lets start with the design. Solid aluminum construction so it is pretty durable. It is pretty sleek and not that big either, just the right size for an enclosure. Internal IDE connectors match up perfectly with the hard drive I planned to use and external ports for power and USB work just fine.

Cons: My first complaint with this is the USB and power ports seemed to be quite shaky as if it would snap right off from the enclosure. The next might be more of an issue with my hard drive due to fact that it's and older IDE drive. It was quite hard to get the drive to fit completely in the enclosure and I had to bend the molex power connector quite a bit just to accommodate enough space for it the completely close up and screw back together. Although sleek as it may be, the enclosure does not give you much wiggle room, at least with older drives. It also felt as if the led indicator light might snap right off. There is also very little room for ventilation. Not like hard drives put out a lot of heat but it is still a concern.

Overall Review: Decently priced but design could be better. There are quite a few signs of a shoddy job with regards to assembly of the enclosure but it does what it is supposed to. I bought this primarily to reuse an old drive but personally I would not feel comfortable using this for any drive used to store critical files.

Pros: Inexpensive, great for accessing turning an old hard drive into an external.

Cons: Cheap, easily damaged power switch. Died with very little use.

Overall Review: I put a friend's old hard drive into this enclosure a few years ago. It's been used maybe 6 total hours. It won't spin the drive up anymore. The hard drive itself is fine and works in other enclosures. The enclosure's power supply may be bad, I have not done further testing.

Pros: Good Construction Good Price (since this is made for an old technology) Comes with a stand for vertical positioning.

Cons: No fan, but I was already aware of this.

Overall Review: A good way to bring an old drive back to life. I purchased this back in 2010 and it is still running strong.

Pros: Powered on the first time. Thick aluminum feels solid and the drive fits close to the sides making for good heat dissipation. Very surprised on the build quality for the price.

Cons: Because of the tight fit, one of the screws that holds the drive to the back bracket scraped the inside. The screw head had just enough bulk to prevent me from forcing the drive into place. Thankfully it took two screws plus had another two to be installed after this step, so I removed the rogue screw.

Overall Review: Planning on using this for my Cousin's Wii. He is young and destroys his discs. Hopefully it will be compatible like the other Rosewill enclosure I purchased.

Pros: Attractive case, transfers at top end of USB 2.0 rates, inexpensive

Cons: Could not fit one of my two IDE drives, fit and finish mediocre

Overall Review: Almost every make of inexpensive enclosure has knocks against it for difficulty of installation and this model is no exception. The nice looking aluminum case is so tight that fitting a drive is hit or miss. I could not reassemble the enclosure with my Western Digital Caviar Blue but my Maxtor just barely fit. Once I had the drive all the way into the case, some of the supplied screws lined up correctly and others didn't. But in operation the enclosure does what it's supposed to. If neither of my drives had fit I'd be very frustrated.

Overall Review: I posted a fairly negative review about 2 month's ago (review is here on Newegg under the same name). Rosewill contacted me, and I told them what happened to my enclosure. They promptly sent me another without any questions. How can I complain about that? Its practically unheard of in this day and age of bottom line money grabbing exploitation. I have to give Rosewill their just due, they stood behind their product. I do own quite a few products by Rosewill, and I will (now) continue to be a consumer. FYI: I could not figure out how to edit my previous review.

Pros: Simple, cheap. ease of assembly.

Cons: Power supply rating not mentioned in the description. _ Bought this to use with an old 300 Gb Maxtor IDE drive from '05. unfortunately i was unable to use the maxtor with this, as the current rating for the drive is 1500 mA. the power supply for this external encloser is rated at only .6A or 600 mA. 600 mA is plenty power for most hd's built in the last 3-5 years, some legacy drives like my maxtor are energy hogs, and will not run on this power supply.

Overall Review: Fortunately I also had an old 120 Gb seagate drive sitting around, not as much space as I was hoping for on an external drive, but its just enough to hold me. -- at first I was thinking this unit was DOA, until it clicked in that the current wasnt strong enough to power my old maxtor.. if your checking this enclosure out, look at the label on your drive, it will list the current (amperage) demand. I can understand how some noobs would think this thing is DOA if they are trying to power an old legacy drive that demands more power than the supply can deliver.

Pros: Owned for about a week, Used this as a backup to go along with a drive I had laying around collecting dust. -Worked On first try -No cheap/faulty power plug -Sturdy construction, definetly could take a hit. -Simple, meaning less can go wrong. -No overheating problems with my use.

Cons: I had a 160g drive that at the time I didn't know was faulty. (Prior to this case, not caused by) formatted it 2x in a row both ending with failed tries. Drive went in the trash, but the case along with the drive were HOT. NO problems with current drive, 80g and I capped it with a backup of movies I had right from the get go. It was no warmer than expected. and has given me NO problems.

Overall Review: I wouldn't know how well the drive will hold up if put to 100% load for an hour or longer , but from the failed drive I would assume that in a metal case with no moving air it will never result in positive. Overall 5/5, it's a rock solid case for $20 and it dosen't have that really poor plug style like other cheap external cases.
