Pros: Sleek, lightweight design.
Cons: Ships with a seagate harddrive that is completely unsuitable for a notebook drive. This 'firecuda' drive uses an 'SMR' platter technology designed for archival/storage drives. It is, by far, the slowest hardrive I have ever encountered. If you buy one of these, plan on upgrading the drive.
Pros: Great built - comparing to the other contenders it has a fine built Great keyboard design and track pad Display - best in the market with this price Performance - pumped up with i7 it works effortlessly Last but not the least cooling system is good and has good speakers A good product from Asus
Cons: 1050 Nvidia supports Medium level settings The cooling system fan makes some noice , can be tolerated
Pros: Sleek laptop. Visually appealing. Didn't come pre installed with useless ram eating apps.
Cons: Hard drive failure. Speakers are horrible. Dissapointed me in less then 37 days...
Overall Review: I am experiencing the exact same issue as Drew F. First 30 days the laptop performed okay, not as good as I expected, but was okay. I assumed the sluggish performance was because I didn't get the SSD. Games played okay for the most part, except yesturday on January 4th, 37 days after I purchased the computer my disk drive started to run at 100% and have very little response time opening up simple tasks like the control panel. I got really upset and decided to do a operating system reset to see if that would solve the issue, but the computer loads at about 1% every 15 minutes while trying to reset. I don't have high hopes for it's original state "if" the reset works. I will be calling new egg tommorow to see if they will resolve the problem. I have a feeling they will just shove me to Asus to fix my issue, but fingers are crossed. I also have speakers that crack and abseloutly sound horrible. If it had a solid state drive with a normal HDD and better speakers, the laptop is very sleek and overall feels and looks really good. I am a Huge Asus fan, but I'm very disappointed and feel like my money will be wasted. I will update everyone how new egg has delt with my situation once I call on there next business day.
Pros: It is FAST. Runs all games on Ultimate setting. Awesome video card. And the INTEL i7 out performs the i5, so I'm pleased to have it in here. Plenty of storage, which is easily upgradeable. Long power cord makes it easy to use plugged in almost where ever you are. Backlit keys for easy viewing in any light.
Cons: This is such a wonderful computer I had to sit and really think to find something I could not like. After much thinking, I decided that it could be considered a bit heavy by some users. Only a fault if you are hauling it around a lot over long distances, I suppose. lol
Overall Review: I bought this computer after my daughter took over my smaller ASUS laptop to take to college. To my surprise I enjoy this ASUS even more than the smaller one. Awesome computer. I'm getting one for my wife for Christmas. :-]
Pros: At $1090 this machine is a steal. Trackpad is good, keyboard is great and the machine has good power. Screen colors are pretty nice and I prefer the matte display over a glossy one. I really like this laptop as I made the jump from Apple. I did a side by side comparison with a MacBook Pro 15 and this laptop rendered 3 times faster in every test in both After Effects and Adobe Premiere Pro.
Cons: One issue I can see is the battery life is short. After two cycles WIN10 Battery report is reporting about 2.5 hours of battery use. I was hoping it to be more around 3-4. If running Adobe products heavily, I'm sure this battery life is much shorter. I have only used the Adobe products briefly thus far. Another small issue is the back arrow key seems to bump the chassis on the laptop. Hopefully this does't become a bigger issue.
Pros: This computer worked amazingly for the few months I used it....
Cons: It just died and never came back on.
Overall Review: I bought this computer a little over a year ago and I will day for the first year I used it for Netflix and what not. My son got terminally ill and required my constant attention he passed as of June 25th and I decided to take my mind off it by doing some gaming.... sadly I played though borderland 1-pre- and 2 and was about to buy borderlands 3 when for no reason the computer just stopped working.... I have all my sons photos and personal information on the computer and now it is gone, (I have the photos on an I cloud I can get them back I hope) but now what was helping this sad father get through his days is gone and for no reason other then it wanted to stop working. Truly sad. I have bough ASUS always last three laptops were ROG laptops and I was hoping for so much more out of this one then what I got. Still love you ASUS but this is an impossible fix for me.
Pros: - Aesthetically pleasing design - Screen is great - Great when dealing with heavy programs like Photoshop
Cons: - The fans are LOUD when gaming - USB ports can be finicky on the left side - Have had issues with keys and mouse "sticking"
Overall Review: After less than a year I regret picking this laptop over the other options on my list. While it is a great looking machine, the fact that the fans get so loud while gaming makes no sense considering it's the ROG line. The problems with my keys and mouse sticking is also ridiculous. Sending the machine into ASUS did nothing considering the issue came back less than a week later. All they did was replace the keyboard, thinking that would solve the issue. I would suggest going with a different brand if you want a reliable customer service experience and a quiet gaming laptop.
Pros: Large, clear screen Very fast start-up All games playing at top or near top settings Very light and slim for the size of the computer Construction seems solid
Cons: The fan is pretty loud. It's a trade off for the really high powered chipsets, but it seems like something could have been done to reduce it. My Toshiba Laptop wasn't nearly this loud.
Overall Review: The backlight keyboard is a cool touch, along with the Asus pre-loaded hardware monitoring tool.
