Patriot Viper 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model PVS24G6400LLK

Pros: I upgraded to this ram from another set of 2x1GB Patriot Memory. It was as simple as taking out the old and plugging in the new. Manually set timings to 4-4-4-12 and running stable at 2.1V. It is currently running at 850mhz on these timings 100% stable in games and other programs. Not much of an OC, but it works for what I do.

Cons: The picture shows a black ram chip with black heat spreader. The ram chip it self is actually green with the same heat spreader. No big deal though!

Overall Review: After seeing the ram I was fearful when pressing on the heat spreader to push the ram into each slot. The heat spreader held firm though and the ram installed without any problems. Kudos to patriot as I have not had one problem with their ram. Currently running Asus P5N32-E SLI Plus, 8800GTS EVGA 640, E6420 2.13 Processor, running without any problems using this ram.

Pros: RAM runs cool to the touch. Naturally, was easy to install. I've been able to push these modules 160MHz higher than the rated 800MHz speed on an Asus Striker II Formula.

Cons: I cannot get the rated 4-4-4-12 timings off of this RAM. The best timings I have gotten are 5-4-4-12, but these timings offer no performance boost. I currently run these modules at 5-5-5-12. 2.2v is a rather high voltage for these modules to operate at, too.

Overall Review: I've owned this RAM for six months now and decided to offer my opinion. If this RAM would run at the rated 4-4-4-12 ratings, I would have surely given them a 5/5 eggs. Advertising the modules at certain timings without delivering hurts my opinion of these sticks of RAM greatly. A high rated voltage also mars the RAM's score.

Pros: I must say I was impressed at how far I could push this RAM. Went well over 2.3V on the DRAM Voltage. Good overclocking capabilities, and rock solid so far.

Cons: Be FOREWARNED! If you have an oversize heatsink (Zalman, Thermaltake or XigmaTek) - make sure there is sufficient room for the fins on these memory modules (almost 2 inches high). So take that into consideration before you end up like me having to cut through these fins to get a fit.

Pros: Fast, cool looking... /shrug. Does what it's supposed to do and does it well.

Cons: Not too much of a big deal, but due to the size of the fins I am limited when it comes to installing higher end cpu hsf's. Plenty of others to choose from, but my favorites weren't an option due to them butting against the fins. Not enough reason to knock down the rating of the ram though.

Overall Review: I have not tried overclocking, but running at rated speeds just fine. Ran into kind of a snag with blue screens and restarts after using them for a week. I was kind of worried I might have gotten some bum sticks. Silly me forgot to bump up the voltage to 2.2 (my mobo defaulted it at 1.8). Works great after that and passes memtest.

Pros: I have had this ram working stable for close to a year, overclocked at 1066 Mhz with 2.2 volts and the timings set at 4-4-4-12... It gave me a little trouble at 2.1 volts, crashing sometimes during the stress test... but at 2.2 volts this ram has been working just fine.

Cons: none

Overall Review: This ram did not boot for me at the timings 3-3-3-9. Great and easy ram to use at 900 - 1066 MhZ for this price...

Pros: Overclockable and stable so far

Cons: Price dropped $16 since I ordered a few days ago along with an OEM version of Vista Prem. SP-1 64bit

Overall Review: plopped these in my old P965ds3 gigabyte board next to my two sticks of black label G.Skill, left the FSB at 1312 and timings at 4-4-4-12 ( 2950mhz q6600 B3 ) and fully expected a no boot.To my surprise they worked fine. I just ordered another set while their still available and will see if my OC holds with 8 gigs. Who knows may be room for a bit more. As always great service from Newegg.

Pros: I am not going to give it one egg for incompatibility but it did not work with my 780i mobo. Too bad, I hear this RAM is really fast. As usual Newegg got it to me very quickly. I am waiting on the RMA to return my $$$ so I can purchase some Corsair dominator RAM.

Cons: Incompatible with EVGA 780i motherboard.

Pros: Working as advertised. HTPC with very low aiflow, is handling it just fine.

Cons: None on the RAM. Be nice to not have to deal with a rebate to get this price.

Overall Review: 3.5GB is all that shows up as usable, but that is entirely 32 bit Windows XP's fault.
