Overall Review: I initially wrote a 3 egg review because of a trackpad and self upgrade issue. I was a bit upset that the trackpad turns off if you start typing. this has proven to be very useful for playing games. Sure you cant use the trackpad to game but who games with a trackpad ! lol More importantly self upgrades!!!! I just spoke with an MSI Technical Support Rep who let me know that even though there is a warranty void if removed sticker over a screw, removing the sticker does not void your warranty. He told me to register the product online prior to removing the sticker. The 2 year warranty will stay in effect, however your warranty will obviously not cover any upgraded components or any damage done to the machine when doing the upgrade. So as long as you just swap out some RAM and hard drives, your warranty will stay intact!!! Already put in a 1TB drive and purchased a 256GB MSata. This machine keeps getting better and better!!

Pros: A Kerbal Space Program scene that ran at 6 FPS on my ASUS G72 now runs at 48 FPS. Another game I tested also showed an 8x improvement in FPS. Nice! The keyboard looked like it'd be unpleasant to use but it isn't. It's solidly mounted and the keys have nearly no play. I have never been a big fan of these "island" style keyboards, but this one's comfortable to use. Sound quality is good for laptop speakers. Volume can adequately fill a room without distortion, though bass got a bit boomy at high settings. But I'm certain this can be tuned through Soundblaster Cinema. The aluminum case feels great! I actually catch myself idly caressing it sometimes while I read a page! Assembly fit and finish on my unit are flawless. This is my first matte screen. So far I'm happy with it, and it definitely reduces reflections from behind me. Brightness and contrast are excellent; haven't tested color fidelity yet. I do find myself zooming in on web pages more than I used to. 1920x1080 in a 17" screen means lots of detail, but tiny text for my old-gamer eyes.

Cons: The status LEDs on the front edge are far too bright, and I see no way to adjust them through software. I'm trying to come up with a more elegant solution than colored tape, but I'll have to do something. They're nearly as bright as my phone's flashlight LED, and a major distraction whenever my left hand's not on the keyboard. I don't see the point of the customized keyboard layout. A whole dedicated key for "Scroll Lock", 2 different keys for backslash, but Home and End were moved to shared keys, so you have to hold Fn down? After 2 days I'm still hitting Break when I wanted Delete, but I guess I'll adapt. Still, what were they thinking? Is Scroll Lock heavily used in some game I don't play? The battery isn't user-replaceable. Shouldn't be a big deal for me, since I won't be using it unplugged much.

Overall Review: If you have trouble with the trackpad, try adjusting the settings. Once I turned the PalmTracking sensitivity setting way down, mine's worked perfectly. The noisy fans mentioned in early reviews have been fixed. Mine are barely audible during casual use. I upgraded to Windows 8.1 the first day. Had to catch up on Windows Update before it'd let me, but once that was done the upgrade was smooth. Once you upgrade to 8.1, be sure to right-click on the new Start button. Some nice power-user fanservice in that list of quick-links!

Pros: Ultra-slim design, great keyboard, powerful GPU and CPU, SSD comes standard. Did I mention, all that is wrapped in super sexy black aluminum?! very minimalist.

Cons: Runs hot, keyboard backlight not as bright as expected, brushed aluminum lid is a fingerprint magnet, trackpad is a little difficult to get used to, some bloatware (not a lot though), documentation is lacking. Windows 8 on a gaming, doesnt seem right. Im also not really big on the lighted badge on the lid, takes away from the minimalist feel.

Overall Review: The technical prowess of this machine, combined with a gorgeous 17 inch screen, and ultrabook form factor completely nullify any cons I may consider with this laptop. Ive only run a couple games so far,but it seems that the 765m can handle anything thrown at it on at least medium-high settings. Metro: Last Light - 34-55 fps on high, 60-80 on medium, Farcry 3 - 30-50 fps on high, 50-90 on medium, World of Tanks - 50-80 on max. All in all, an extremely impressive little package, without all of the needless frills found on the razer ultrabooks.

Pros: fast!, HD bright big screen. love the keyboard and lights. great build quality. the aluminum looks and feels good. just all around good affordable gaming laptop. not to mention it super light and thin.

Cons: there is only one small problem, that is not a big deal at all to me but others might not like. the track pad isn't the best.

Pros: -Solid Build -Decent LCD panel (not amazing, but very good) -Fast machine with great gaming capabilities for a notebook -Multiple Drive capable. I plan on getting 2 480GB crucial mSATAs while still having the 750GB model. Which btw is 7200rpm as to the 1TB version is only 5400 rpm. -Backlit keyboard is a nice touch. -Video card power light status indicator is awesome how it changes from amber to white nvidia amber/intel white -Being thin and lightweight for a 17inch laptop with this kind of power is just outstanding. -Power brick is small for a laptop if this caliber. Love it. -Abundance of ports is a plus for me. Running 3 displays is easy

Cons: -Windows 8. I hate windows 8 and installing windows 7 was easy and well supported with drivers on MSI's website. -Touchpad. It isn't the worst out there, but I hate it when the left/right mouse buttons are combined with the touchpad. When you go to click things, worse with a right click, the cursor might jump on you because of the stroke of the button and the fact that your finger might budge a tad moving the cursor. Can get annoying. Only way to fix it is to have 1 finger already near the button site and touching the pad, then move the cursor with another finger and then click. -Keyboard issues. My spacebar did not register very well on the right side of the key. I carefully removed the space bar and put 3 layers of electrical tape under the key where the membrane plunger sits. Now it works really well. I no longer have issues typing on this keyboard. It is decent, not very rigid, but good enough for me to speed type this review. -The chassis has a very slight bend in it. Not really a big deal to me, but some might be annoyed if they get this. - The aluminum cover on the lcd panel has a semi-sharp edge where the plastic bezel around the lcd meet the metal. Not enough to cut yourself, just a little unrefined. -Front LED indicator lights are bright. I used a sharpie to dim them down.

Overall Review: Notice how I gave it a 5 star review even with all the cons? Mainly because I am not a picky customer and I had somewhat of an idea what I was getting into with this laptop. I am one of those rare customers that focuses on the POSITIVES and not the negatives of the product. For all of you out there that give this laptop 1 to 2 eggs should RMA it continue living their tortured lives. This day and age, customers act like little brats. So sad. Boo hoo! "Why is my 1500 dollar laptop not built like a 3000 dollar laptop?" Boo Hoo!

Pros: The laptop is very thin and light for the power is has under the hood. The screen is very bright and there's no glare. Using the MSI tool free number, it was quick to reach a service rep.

Cons: You cannot upgrade the laptop without voiding the warranty. I purchased it with a 1TB SSD that I planned to use to replace the 750GB HDD but I had to void the warranty to do so. The documentation that came with the laptop is minimal, even the BIOS options are not explained and the MSI web site is extremely badly designed and does not contains much. I upgraded the laptop from Windows 8 to Windows 7 (like many I hate Windows 8) and it was very painful to find all the drivers. MSI download page doesn't contain anything, whether for Windows 7 or 8. Extremely disappointing.

Pros: 1. Sturdy build quality 2. Pretty good battery life (I get 5 -6 hours when programming/web surfing/listening to music) 3. Keyboard is a joy to use - the fact that there is another \ button beside the spacebar is amazing for me since I'm a programmer. My first GS70 had a pretty bad spacebar and the middle of the keyboard had some flex. I RMAd it with Newegg and the new one feels superb. I guess the first one was a lemon. 4. Weight - I used to have a G73 and this thing feels like a feather in comparison. 5. Performance - No issues running any of my programming environments. Also runs my games pretty smooth. Haven't had any issues with Optimus not recognizing any games. 6. The Screen - Produces decent picture and pretty clear. No ghosting when gaming. 7. Haven't had any of the loud fan or excessive heat issues others seem to have.

Cons: 1. Trackpad - Its not exactly terrible, once you get use to it its pretty decent but could be better. 2. The Screen - It has its good point (mentioned above), but there a couple bad things. The viewing angle sucks. And when you switch from like a browser window with white background or any other light background screen and go to a dark background screen, you can see small rectangular bands going across the screen (horizontally and vertically) as the screen adjusts. Its a minor issue and not bad enough to go through another RMA. As a heads up its been confirmed I'm not the only one who has the issue.

Overall Review: Overall a great laptop but I did expect a higher quality screen for this price.

Pros: Nice Machine. Great specs for price. No buyers remorse.

Cons: Track pad is still bad. Sleep problems. I close the lid (or sleep from menu), put it in the laptop bag, Stupid hot when I take it out half hour later. Happens approx. 25% of the time Optimus technology doesn't mesh with PoE (Still shows HD4000), but every other game I have tested it works fine. Hot. Hot. Hot Like I mean when it's cold my girlfriend gets a heated blanket. I just cuddle up to the laptop and the power brick. Can get uncomfortably hot when gaming. Power connector on the mouse side. Like really? It also blocks the exhaust port with the cylinder on the cord.
