SeaSonic USA S12II 520 Bronze

Today, Sea Sonic Electronics launches the S12II "Bronze" Series - the updated version of the award winning S12II Series - to meet the growing demand for high efficiency and yet price-competitive power supplies.

The S12II Bronze Series achieves the 80 PLUS® Bronze standard of at least 82%, 85% and 82% power usage efficiency at 20%, 50% and 100% operating loads respectively. This, combined with Active Power Factor Correction, enables the S12II Bronze to reduce energy waste, boost power efficiency and more importantly, reduce energy costs for you.

In addition to the efficiency upgrade, the S12II Bronze Series maintains the strong foundations of the S12II series. Important features such as the stable and proven Double Forward Converter circuit design, the industry-leading Smart and Silent Fan Control (S2FC) and the use of high reliability, Japanese-brand capacitors are all carried forward in the "Bronze."

The S12II Bronze Series, similar to its predecessors, is available in the standard ATX form factor and in wattages that are most common for a PC system. In addition to the all-in-one cabling design, the 520W and 620W models come with additional EPS connectors for IPC and server systems, and supports both 6P and 8P PCI-E connectors for the most current and high-end dual graphic cards.

Decent budget power supply. 3/5/2019 10:08:33 AM

Pros: I used this power supply for seven years in a non air-conditioned, dusty environment. For at least 5 of those years it gave no sign of trouble. Then I began to have sudden system death, as if the power switch were thrown. Over the next two years this happened about half a dozen times. It's actually possible that the power supply has nothing to do with those events; but I decided to replace it when the rest of the system started having problems.

Cons: Not the best of the best, and I think you can actually do better for yourself to get a modular power supply. That said: I absolutely got my money's worth.

Overall Review: I'd like to give this my whole hearted recommendation. It's been a fine power supply. But, I just think you can better spend your money on a higher end power supply.

Great Price 2/23/2019 10:56:09 AM

Pros: Had all the connectors, none broken
Wires appear to be firmly attached to connectors
Quiet operation
Really good price

Cons: The only feature I wish it had was the if the 8 pin eatx12v cables were a little longer. They were too to route without running across the mother board, but I guess I which is my experience with others. I might have been spoiled from other PSU coming with an extension. Just becomes a cost to weigh against the low price of the PSU to buy an extension

Overall Review: I would definitely recommend this unit to others. Although for myself I might opt for 600 Watt Gold Modular.

Quite !!! 1/21/2019 1:12:58 PM

Pros: Just installed and this is the quietest power supply I have ever not heard.

Cons: Wiring is very stiff and for my application the main power 24pin feed is way to long.

Overall Review: I would recommend this to anyone and the only thing I would change would be to make the wiring a little less stiff

excellent, They pulled all the stops on this one. 1/10/2019 9:31:37 PM

Pros: It works well, It comes with a bunch of nice premium cable management, a cool sticker badge, a power cable, and has more connectors than I expected for a 520 watt power supply. The quality is real good.

Cons: well the holes on my case were about a millimeter off on one of the holes but the case is ancient. I got it to fit fine after some shifting.

Pros: None

Cons: I wish I could give this 0 eggs. Came defective. Wouldn’t even turn on. Now I have to pay a shipping fee and taxes to return it. Plus its gonna take another week. Never buying from Seasonic ever again. There are like 12 other people that are saying the same thing. Don’t buy it.

Perfect! fit the bill 8/25/2018 2:26:47 PM

Pros: I had to replace a Bestec 300 Watt in a older Compaq Presario, I was getting random reboots and suspected the PSU given the age of he PC. I purchased an ATX power supply tester and sure enough the PSU was failing on the +/- 5 volts, which was jumping up and down causing the tester to beep when going too high. I was initially looking for a 350 to 400 watt since I don't need much for his system, however I wanted good brand name and the 520 Watt was the lowest Seasonic model Newegg had. The price was what I was looking for, the quality of the construction was very evident after I took it out of the box. I went ahead and tested it before installing it. The voltages were perfect and rock solid. It is much quieter than the old PSU so I sometimes wasn't sure the PC was even running if the monitor was off and I was walking by. As one of the other reviews stated, all of the cables being black is a little harder to see at first but a minor issue. So far so good 4 months.

Cons: None, especially for the price.

Overall Review: If have an older system or are building budget rig this seems to be a very good choice, especially if the video card does not require the PCI Express conector. I am sure it will handle some mid range graphics cards that do require the PCI express connector with no problem, however I am sure a higher wattage would be preferable when building gaming systems.

It works but I warn you.... 8/1/2018 12:25:35 AM

Pros: This power supply is exactly what I expected. For a low range build like mine it is a ok but if you plan on going for a *i-9 with dual titan 1080’s* I would recommend more power.

Cons: None

Overall Review: Works for me
