Pros: I used this motherboard for my gaming pc for about 6 months and it works great. I did see a lot of mixed reviews about this motherboard and I have to say I’m not having any problems. It lights up all the time which is awesome it looks great in my case.
Cons: None I can think of at the moment.
Pros: Maybe Easy to set up, but it has issues with the HID drivers when setting up Windows 7 Install. Managed to fix it with only a keyboard shortcuts. Oh, me.
Cons: The network drops sockets. I can ping all of the local stuff but the Internet connections just drop off for no go reason. I thought it was sleep mode but that didn't fix anything. OLD Win 7 computer on the same router never drops out. Only a restart will get the socket back. Remove, reinstall drivers multiple times. Did some googling and I ain't alone on this I219-V chipset. Apparently now that Intel has their basket full, good luck getting a fix. New Egg has no MB replacements. Wonder if a new PCI Express Card Netwok might just be simpler, like forever? Gripes.
Overall Review: Cannot recommend. ASUS Rep you got an answer, please?
Pros: - Very nice board, looks amazing and goes very well with my white NZXT S340 Case! - Came with everything including 2 m.2 screws and mounts - Booted up right away, BIOS was very easy to work - AURA (LED Colors) are super sweet!
Cons: Had a strange issue with LAN / Ethernet driver. In Windows 10 (Education version), it showed the little icon of the computer, but stated there's no connections available. Lights were lit in the back. Drivers were not installed however according to Device Manager. - Downloaded LAN drivers from web site, after 10 minutes of "trying" to install driver, it timed out and told me there's no ethernet devices found - Plugged in USB DVD drive, used the disk that came with it, same issue...just wasted 25 minutes trying to install ethernet Finally, I just manually went through the disk's folders and right clicked and installed one of the random LAN/Ethernet drivers and it worked like magic....Not really sure why their own software didn't work but just putting this out there in case anyone has issues. This is the ASUS Prime Z270-A by the way. Minus 1 Egg for this...Make sure your own software works with your board?
Overall Review: Other than the LAN/Ethernet driver issue, I'm really liking this board. This is my first ASUS board, usually MSI or Gigbyte. I would buy another, the board and features are really sweet and they make sure you get everything you pay for. One note however, if anyone is using the same case, it was pretty tight. I had to force the front USB 3 cable into the slot because it's such a tight build (If you care about cable management). This is not a con, but JFYI. If you have a small/tight case, keep that in mind with your build. Overall, I'm happy. Would buy again though.
Pros: Overall this is a great board. It has plenty of ports, M.2, USB3, impressive BIOS, and more.
Cons: There is currently a flawed Intel RST/AHCI/RAID driver that causes significant DPC latency. The latest driver from Intel's website is better than the driver currently on Asus' website, but it still has occasional DPC latency that can only be fixed by restarting. You'll notice the DPC latency when the mouse pointer begins to stutter and audio begins to crack. This only applies if you're using the SATA ports in combination with Intel's driver.
Overall Review: This would be a 5/5 if Intel had a better driver for SATA. Not Asus' fault.
Pros: Good bios options, effective and easy one-click overclock, no sleep problems with my setup
Cons: Default booted from an unwanted hard drive at first - may have been my fault for plugging in the wrong SATA port. Obvious fix by adjust boot order.
Overall Review: The best thing about this really is the one click overclock. It boosted my i5 7600k from the standard 3.8ghz to a stable 4.5ghz without me having to test anything. Core temps are stable 35C idle to 60C heavy use with a heatsink/fan Ive been using from my Phenom II quad core, purchased 7 years ago. No other problems. Reused my old hard drives and reactivated Windows and that was that.
Pros: This board is the best I've ever owned. I have a white theme going on and this fit the bill! Brand new with a new chipset, processor and DDR4 RAM the setup was a breeze.
Cons: None to speak of
Overall Review: Everything I was hoping to get and more. Put a i7 7700 and 16GB 3200 DDR4 RAM with a clean windows 10 install.
Pros: nice colors and lots of ports for customization
Cons: Lasted just about 2 years before it failed. Completely out of the blue, nothing leading up to the failure. Paid to have IT look at my machine and they determined mobo failure. Very unexpected as it worked totally fine until I went to start up one day and nothing turned on besides a blinking power LED light.
Overall Review: Had issues with an ASUS chromebook too so I wont be getting another ASUS product, very disappointed.
Pros: I didn't realize this mobo did light shows when i purchased it. I was pleasantly surprised. It seems to perform well.
Cons: Bio UI is "Meh" I thought it was clunky.
Overall Review: Light raves
