Dead on Arrival 9/14/2020 11:00:32 AM

Overall Review: when i tested the Motherboard on a Evga 1000w p2 it showed an amber light, so i bought a rosewill power supply and it still did not work, same amber breathing light on board. both power supplies worked fine on an ROG strix Z390-e mobo with an intel i5 9600k

Excellent value and features in this board 9/14/2020 10:46:15 AM

Pros: It has all the stuff you'll need, and none of the stuff you won't use anyways. It is not full of bells and whistles, which I like -- I prefer a stripped-down and lean model. I built two machines (together) with this motherboard, and both of them fired right up without any problems and self-installed the Asus chipset drivers etc. It's slightly smaller than the typical ATX board on width.

Cons: The placement of the CHA1 and CHA2 fan headers could be better. They're almost smack in the middle of the mobo, instead of along the edges. This requires the ugly fan wires to cross the board in plain sight...no way to hide them. It pained me to have two of the tightest-looking builds I've done spoiled by chassis fan wires.

Overall Review: Great motherboard, everything works, does what it should.

Great for the cost 9/10/2020 5:48:51 AM

Pros: Board well laid out, parts easily installed.

Cons: When did motherboards stop shipping with screws?

Overall Review: Recommended for the low to mid range budget.

Don’t BOTHER WITH THIS BOARD 8/7/2020 2:37:57 PM

Pros: None

Cons: All,I have tried 3 ASUS boards and none of them would let me install windows. I have installed windows on many other motherboards but for some reason ASUS boards just don’t work. I have no trouble installing windows on any other boards except for ASUS.

Overall Review: Would not buy your better off buying something form MSI

Dear Rogelio p,

I'm sorry to hear that you have had issues with multiple ASUS motherboards. All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control, testing and inspections. What you've experienced was not intentional or representative of our brand. Can you please send me the serial numbers of the boards you had problems with, and the model of the storage drive you used? The boards would boot into BIOS but refuse to install Windows? Please reach out to me at cl-lane@asus.com and include case #N200834182 in your email for reference.

Thank you for choosing ASUS!

Best regards,
Lane

Great product overall! Smaller dimensions makes it hard to work with 2/6/2020 8:58:49 AM

Pros: Great quality motherboard, easy config and setup. Great quality motherboard and USB 3.1 is great to have.

Cons: Smaller dimensions makes it very difficult to put together, put all parts on the motherboard before putting it in the case.

Overall Review: This motherboard works fantastic and I would recommend it to anybody. Make sure to put all parts in BEFORE putting it into the case.

Great motherboard 1/20/2020 10:49:23 AM

Pros: Easy to setup, everything works as expected.

Cons: the circuit board is black and the text is dark gray so reading the pin orientation is somewhat difficult

Overall Review: Would purchase again, I was able to to Windows 10 and Mac OS X working. I haven't tried Linux yet but I am not thinking I will have any issues with that.

Smooth and stable, Intel Core i7-9700 right out of the box 1/17/2020 7:23:08 AM

Pros: - 2 PS/2 ports (yes, I still run PS/2 for mouse and keyboard. PS/2 is VERY reliable and saved me when I needed them. A major requirement for my builds)
- 2 M.2 slots and a dedicated M.2 for wifi (pretty cool)
- Very reasonably priced
- ample USB 3.1 gen 1/2 ports
- eSATA
- Native HDMI and DP (can come in handy if my video card fails)
- Pin-outs for COM

Cons: - Not exactly ATX size: industry standards are 12x9.6; this board is 12x9.2. Others mentioned using caution when plugging in the power cords and RAM into the mobo, since excessive force can snap the board. HEED THIS CAUTION!
- SATA ports seem loose/flimsy
- SATA ports would be better if they faced the front of the computer (I have this board installed in a Rosewill THOR V2 full-size case, so cable management was a bit challenging)
- 4 SATA ports instead of 6, however this can be made up with the 2 M.2 ports
- I heard that the VRM performance is below average (I haven't noticed any issues)
- The placement of the case fan connectors for the front and rear fans do not make sense. The front fan connector should be located towards the front of the mobo, and the rear fan connector should be located towards the rear of the mobo; both are placed in the rear (why?) This resulted me in purchasing a power cable extender for the front fan.
- No native USB type C (not a major con- I have a type C connector that I can connect to the mobo header)

Overall Review: Built this PC in August 2019 and after 5 months I am overall very content with this board. I had no issues installing an Intel Core i7-9700 right out of the box. It is great for games (I game occasionally) and excellent for massive amounts of data/imaging processing (LiDAR, ArcGIS/ArcPro).

The native 2 PS/2 ports is what gravitated me towards with board (I will hold on to PS/2 for as long as I can).

I give this board a 4/5 for the biggest cons I came across: loose SATA ports, slightly smaller than the ATX standard (seriously, without additional support you can snap the board just by putting too much pressure installing the RAM or power cables), and the placement of the front and rear fan connectors.

RAM slots broken on 2 separate boards 12/19/2019 9:02:24 PM

Pros: Looks nice I guess

Cons: The first board I bought came with 2 dead RAM slots. Figured I just got a dud. Ordered a new one and to my surprise... same 2 RAM slots dead again

Manufacturer Response:
Dear Valued Customer,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with two separate motherboards. Have you verified that this CPU and RAM function properly on a different motherboard? Is there any visible damage to the CPU socket? Can you provide me with the serial numbers of both of your motherboards with RAM issues? I'd like to investigate your case for quality control. This is not a reflection of our brand's quality. Please reach out to me at cl-lane@asus.com and include case #N191263532 in your email for reference.

Thank you for choosing ASUS!
