HEC 7106BB Black 1.0mm Thickness ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: This is, hands down the easiest build I've ever done. All the drive bays are solidly laid out, all the standoffs are easily accessible, and this thing is a brick - you could probably drop it from a 10 story building and have all the components inside still intact. The idea was to take an old Core 2 Duo T6600 build that I didn't have any use for anymore and turn it into a relatively amazing full 1080p HTPC setup. It's primary use is going to be for movies, internet browsing, maybe some light gaming. And this case will make it perfect for sitting on the shelf next to the high-end Yamaha components it will be accompanying.

Cons: This is also, one of the most frustrating builds I've ever done. The HDD is very difficult to access - I had to remove the RAM in order to wedge the drive, and even then my primary HD isn't completely secure. There's only 3 3.5" drive bays and 3 5.25" bays - so don't buy this case if you plan on expanding your HTPC at all. I had to get a full, standard ATX power supply (I chose the Corsair CX430) and it just barely fit - it almost scraped the label and some of the paint off the PSU in the process. There's also a very awkwardly mounted vent that you have to remove in order to access anything.

Overall Review: It'll be interesting to see how this case holds up in the long run, I'm worried about the heat it'll generate due to not having enough (or really any) fans included. And the vents it does have aren't the standard 120, 140, or 200mm size. So hunting for fans on this will be quite the chore. But I hope it will be worth it.

Pros: this case is awesome for a htpc build. great air flow, plenty of space for any size video card. came with all the hardware i needed and plus some. super sturdy, you could set any size monitor, or small tv on this thing with no problems.

Overall Review: YES THIS CASE HAS A SPOT TO MOUNT AN 80mm INTAKE FAN. open the case with the front of the case away from you. notice all the way in the right hand corner, a hexagonal shape made of little holes, that's where you mount the 80mm intake fan. the two very long screws go in the top of the fan. the bottom of the fan needs no screws, there's little pop ups to keep the bottom of the fan securely tight. this is only my 4th pc build ever and i can figure that out. people who post no place for an intake fan on the cons and have their tech level high really makes me wonder!!!!!!! hope this helps.

Pros: This is a brick. The heavy duty quality is something that I can appreciate as a former Q500 owner. Roomy case, rare to find a desktop case for full ATX. The power button makes a pleasing "clunk". Thanks to the previous reviews I was aware of the quirks and was prepared for them. I added my own fans: 2x60mm, 1x120mm(in drive bay area), 1x80mm, and pci slot exhaust.

Cons: Did not come with fans. Some people may have trouble with longer video cards and the 3.5 drive bay. Not an issue for me as I removed the 3.5 bay.

Pros: Solid case for the price. Plenty of room/bays. Good Construction.

Cons: No front USB, Fans are not included. The provided fan cutouts on the rear are for dual 60mm fans, I would have preferred 80mm. The hard drive cage is hard to slide into place when the motherboard is in place as it slides into the components of the motherboard.

Overall Review: This was purchased as a temporary HTPC case until I could find or build a more suitable/attractive case.

Pros: It is a well built case. It is made of steel instead of light-weight (and easily bendable) aluminum. Has a couple of 60 mm fan placements in the back and an 80 mm fan placement in the front (no fans are included). This allows for the choice of either having a decently quiet case or for one to choose their own fans. One of the few remaining desktop style cases.

Cons: None really. It may be hard to fit in the power supply at first. Some may want front USB and/ or audio, but there are 3.5" bay usb/ audio panels available. Not light-weight (may be considered a pro.)

Overall Review: All-in-all a good sturdy case. I also own the beige version of this case. Pros: Great case, fairly well put together and quiet. No vibration issues, lots of space, and well ventilated. Great price too!

Cons: Instructions with case could have explained more about what all the parts provided are for. Still don't know what the little rubber cone shaped feet are for, especially since the case came with rubber feet already stuck on but in a different size.

Overall Review: I searched long and hard for a good HTPC case, but my problem is that I can't throw away money on a case simply because it looks pretty, especially when reviews are mixed on most HTPC cases. I also had 3 hard drives and one DVD drive to start out with and wanted room for expansion if needed, and as sad as it is, HTPC cases are just not build with expansion in mind. I went out on a limb and got this case as it'll fit well in my TV stand, and I've been very pleased so far!

Pros: The details on this case are WRONG, you can in fact install a 80x80x25mm fan (in the front of the case below the 3 1/2 in tray) additionally two 60x60x25mm fans. So you can install 3 fans in this case.

Cons: Too install the 80mm fan you will need to remove the face plate on the case and use standard screws for some reason, the threads are not designed to use standard fan screws. So make sure you got a nice small Screw driver as standard fan screws do not fit. Like mentioned in the other reviews, the screws in the 3 CD Bays seem to be a bit off, I didn't alter the case, I just screw in the 2 furthest screws on each side (so 4 all together) and kind of angled the drive to fit, did not hurt anything and it doesn't look bad, looks normal unless you wanna critique a 1mm additional gap on the bottom of the cd-rom drive.

Overall Review: BE CAREFUL when you consider buying this case, the 7 inch width is serious. The standoffs on the board are quite high as well, bigger than normal standoffs (screws that hold the MB off the Platter/tray in the case). If you are running an Nvidia 460 GTX make sure you buy a Mini-HDMI to Hdmi cable, your MINI-Hdmi to HDMI that came with your Vid Card wont fit because of the clearance outside of the case. My Mini-HDMI to HDMI cable was SHOVED in. I luckily did not need to shave off any plastic. I was nervous just shoving it in, that's how tight the fit was, I just know it wont get pulled out easily playing with the cords behind my tv atleast.

Pros: Low cost horizontal case that can take a full ATX motherboard. Solid construction, doesn't warp or flex like a lot of low-cost cases. Good deal - the alternatives were 3-4 times the cost. Everything is easy to install if you install it in the right order.

Cons: No front USB ports. No place for front-mounted fans or front air intake. Rear panel has space for two 60mm fans instead of a more common 80mm. Some of the fan screws are difficult to install because they are recessed. Only 3 3.5" bays. Can't install or remove the 3.5" drive carrier without removing the RAM (full size ATX Gigabyte board.)

Overall Review: With a full-size ATX motherboard, the only space for unused power supply cables are the 5.25" drive bays. You'll need a modular power supply if you want to use all 3 bays. Put the motherboard in before installing the power supply, then install the drives.
