When only the touch screen (Digitizer) is broken, you should see some transparent spider webs. And you still see what is happening on the screen, and the image displays should still well.
When only the LCD is broken, you can still use the touch screen, but the screen has dark blobs or some dark liquid. And you CAN NOT see the image clearly or wholly.
When both LCD and touch screen are damaged, you will see both of transparent spider webs and dark liquid, and maybe some parts of the LCD may display the image, but you will incur obvious difficulties in using the device as normal.
