The enclosure supports M.2 SATA and NVMe SSDs in the following sizes: 2230, 2242, 2260, and 2280. While it supports up to 8TB, it has been tested and verified to support SSDs up to 4 TB.
What speeds does the enclosure support?
The Hub supports up to 10Gbps. Although the port from the Mac Mini is Thunderbolt 4 (Thunderbolt 5 for M4 Pro Mac Mini), the enclosure within the hub only supports USB 3.2 (10Gbps) transfer speeds.
Is the hub powered externally or through the Mac Mini?
The Mac Mini M4 Hub is BUS-powered directly through the USB-C connection to the Mac Mini, eliminating the need for an external power supply.
Will all the ports work simultaneously? Including the SD card slot?
Yes, but note that our Mac Mini M4 hub is a bus power hub and has a shared wattage and data bandwidth. While all ports work simultaneously, we advise using 1 drive at a time for optimum performance.
