The Targus 65W GaN Wall Charger (APA803GL) is a USB-C wall adapter for compatible notebooks and mobile phones, suited to people who want up to 65W of power from one charger with a single USB-C port.
Recommended For
- Business travelers who want one USB-C charger for a compatible laptop and phone, with interchangeable plugs for international trips.
- Hybrid workers carrying a USB-C PD laptop who want a travel-friendly spare charger for a work bag or shared workspace.
- Travelers who want to charge a laptop and a second USB-A device at the same time; when both ports are used, output is shared at up to 45W over USB-C and 18W over USB-A.
- People packing for a trip with a USB-C-charging phone or tablet who want one adapter that also supports compatible laptops and includes plug options for multiple regions.
Real-World Use Scenarios
- On a work trip, a traveler can use one wall charger for a USB-C laptop and a phone at the same time; the laptop gets up to 45W while the phone uses the USB-A port, so charging is shared rather than 65W going to the laptop.
- When traveling internationally, users can pack the charger and its interchangeable plugs instead of relying on a separate plug adapter; they need to fit the plug for the destination’s outlet.
- At a desk or hotel bedside, a user can charge a USB-C laptop from the USB-C port and connect a phone or other USB-A device at the same time, reducing the need to bring two separate charging blocks.
- For a USB-C tablet, a user can use the charger as a single-device charging option at home or while away; the hands-on review reports using it with tablets as well as laptops and phones.
- For a laptop that needs more than 65W, this charger may be better suited to topping up a phone or tablet than replacing the laptop’s main power adapter; charging speed also depends on the laptop supporting USB-C charging.
