Great value 7/30/2020 12:35:45 PM

Pros: As already described, this is a substantial unit - for its size.
Set-up easily and accesses all levels of relevant media.

Cons: Now August. This unit has been u/s since June. win 10 doesn't know it's there. No ready support from Corn. websites are unreachable.

Overall Review: Recommended.
I was replacing internal BR machine - new computer case is not designed for that.
The price of this was phenomenal.
'Corn' follow-up on purchase outstanding

Next day delivery was a real treat. Thanks Newegg.

It's a blu ray drive. Allegedly 3/14/2018 8:57:40 PM

Pros: The CD/DVD functionality does what it's supposed to, after some Googling and tweaking

Cons: It arrived set to region 2, I had to figure out how to change that
The packaging had a picture of a DVD drive on it, with no mention of Blu-ray capability
Can not get it to acknowledge there's a Blu-ray disc in it.

Overall Review: Stay far, far away from this cheap Chinese garbage. It says Blu-ray in the description. It says Blu Ray on the disc tray. It will not read a Blu-ray disc.

Took a chance 1/18/2018 1:44:49 PM

Pros: - No issues connecting to any of my Win 10 machines
- For the price, build quality is sturdy
- Simple design

Cons: - Has a hard time reading Blu Ray discs from time to time.
- Loud head movement
- Short cabling

Overall Review: - Took a chance on this product. Pricing was low and I took the bait. Drive does it what it's supposed to. Reads/writes DVD and BR discs and does so with no issues software wise. Will write DVD's within Windows and I use a few different Blu Ray reading/burning software with this drive without issues. Only big issue I have is that from time to time, at random it seems this drive will "lose" sight of whatever disc is inside, regardless of what software is used and what computer it is connected to. Sometimes it won't load a disc and sometimes in the middle of a rip or viewing, it will drop the disc. Discs are brand new and clean. It is getting adequate USB power from ports with 2A+ each. Drive did this quite often when it was brand new. I would eject disc and reinsert over and over until it picked it up sometimes. As I use it more and more it is happening less frequently, but when it does it can be frustrating. Only does this with Blu Ray movies, has not dropped a DVD or blank disc. Other than this, I am pleased with this drive at the pricepoint I bought it at $60's.

Lens head movement noise is noticeable but not a dealbreaker. Casing is solid for being made of plastic and at the pricepoint it's at. If the disc loss issue is resolved this drive is a fantastic deal!
