ASTRO Gaming A50 Wireless headset + Base Station for PS5, PS4 and PC - Black/Silver

Pros: Sound quality is good. It really tunes out background noise.

Cons: The Dock is trash.

Overall Review: The Dock is trash. You have to put the headset a certain way for it to charge or in my case not charge at all. Went from being dead to me doing a hard reset on the headset and the battery life jumping up to 31%. How does that work? I would keep looking and wouldnt recommend A50s. Had them for two weeks and returned them. Just get A40s or look further beyond Astros.

Overall Review: I was excited to receive and play with these but after installing the software for the headphones and the base, I could only get them to work if they were plugged in via micro-usb. I tried checked for updates, and bug fixes for a day or two but nothing worked. Don't get me wrong. I WANTED these to work. They are comfortable and the A40 version lasted a long time while sounding great. I had high expectations and was very sad that I couldn't get these to work. Astro customer support was lacking very heavily but Newegg was able to help me return them. It is still unclear how the headset was broken but I was led to believe it was an Astro firmware issue.

Pros: This is my second A50 headset, both are the new generation style. I bought the first one from Astro about three years ago. Last year I bought a gaming laptop for on the go gaming while traveling for work and I got tired of swapping the one headset back and forth so I bought another. The sound quality IMO is amazing. I have had Astro headsets for the past ten years. Bought an A40 in 2012 and the only reason I got the A50's was the wireless convenience. The Command Center software is very easy and the battery charges fast/lasts for at least 13-14 hours straight at full charge. The headset feels very sturdy and not flimsy like some Turtles Ive held. Ive worn them for a solid 16+ hours straight and never noticed any irritation or discomfort. The flip up mic is DOPE vs a button you have to push. Plus the fact that you can control the voice/game channel balance, volume, Dolby, and EQ all from the headset instead of having to swap windows to the app itself is a big plus to be.

Cons: The only minor, MINOR complaint I have about this headset is that you cannot just slam it in the dock and walk away. You have to take the extra three seconds to actually PLACE it in the dock so it will charge correctly. Everyone complaining about the dock being trash are probably just impatient people that are rough on things to begin with.

Overall Review: Overall the headset is one of the best IMO. Yes they are a little pricey but you do get what you pay for. The one tiny little con isn't enough for me to make it a 9/10 so I give it a solid 10 out of 10 would recommend over and over again

Pros: Everything. The mic noise cancellation in Tournament mode is outstanding, others cant hear my mechanical keys when typing or gaming. Sound is great Very comfy for my fat head Dock charges super easy Never had the headset die on me yet with all day usage

Pros: - Dolby Atmos Feature - It was like listening to sound for the first time, full of ranges and frequencies I hadn't experienced before. I felt like crying. - Multiple EQ settings to allow swapping between different functions like gaming or video calling with people. - Wireless range is pretty good, can basically walk anywhere in a room and still get perfect sound. - Comfortable: Padding on the headphones is comfortable for long periods, fabric mesh that breathes versus leather/faux leather which I find gets sweaty. - Battery Charge lasts a long time, I haven't done a timed test but never had any issues using for multiple hours at a time. - Astro Command Center - Software is pretty easy to use and calibrate as well as syncing settings to the headset.

Cons: - Sound leakage: Full volume blasting on the headphones will be very audible to the people around you.

Overall Review: I would absolutely recommend this to other people, trying these for the first time was mind blowing from just the quality difference between the A50 and other headphones. I've bought many brands of headphones but I think the Dolby Atmos really makes a difference. Compared to AKG, Sony, and Beats by Dre for just listening to music, I think it surpasses them all from just the default EQ settings by Astro. I also like it for gaming, especially for games like Apex Legends or Counter Strike where directional sound of footsteps are clutch in determining where enemies are located. Using with Discord was pretty easy, no issues on voice pickup while chatting with my team. This was also my first wireless set of headphones, and not having wires getting tangled or caught on my chair is a real game changer. Overall, very solid pair of headphones.
