Pros: Fastest for the money that you can currently get. Works at spec with only 1.6v.

Cons: Sensitive to tRAS setting. Not really a con - just a note. Doesn't support XMP so it's do-it-yourself. But XMP-ready memory doesn't seem to be this fast.

Overall Review: I read the comments here where people said they were running at 1600 7-7-7-20 with DRAM voltage at 1.6v. This did NOT work for me: bluescreens, Prime95 crashes, and desktop freezes. The odd thing is that memtest86+ never had a problem with 7-7-7-20, the problems only showed up when booted into Vista x64. I suspect a possible Intel chipset/inf file issue at the root of the tRAS sensitivity because people on the OCZ forum are reporting similar issues that don't happen in DOS but do in Vista. Changing to 7-7-7-24 solved all these problems. This is the actual spec'ed setting so if you get tighter than this you're just lucky. Actually, the specs call for 1.65 DRAM voltage and it does work with just 1.60v which is nice.

Pros: The 12GB of ram (2 sets) runs as specified in my Asus P6T motherboard with an i7 920 processor. It installs at and runs 1066GHz 7-7-7-20 with the motherboard default motherboard timings. The motherboard needs to be manually adjusted so it runs at the specified speed. After adjustment it runs error free at 1600 MHz with 7-7-7-24 timing at 1.64 Volts. Ran memtest86 for 36 hours error free.

Cons: none so far.

Pros: This would be a great kit if it was rated at 1333Mhz.

Cons: Could not for the life of me get this RAM to run stable at spec. Apparently I should have read the other reviews since it appears I'm not the only one. Maybe it's just my kit, but LinX would fail consistently after 10-11 minutes even with the VVT set to 1.45 and VDIMM at 1.675. Quite frankly no one should have to raise their VTT that high just to get a RAM to run at stock. OCZ support has been non-existent as well. Really had high hopes for this RAM.

Overall Review: I define stable as being able to pass 15-20 runs of LinX error free. I run Vista and other apps just fine, but I plan to OC so I'm looking for rock solid stability in my RAM before I OC. If you're an average user you can probably apply a less strenuous standard since it's unlikely you will place the kind of strain LinX does on a computer, but I'm a firm believer that something should come as advertised, and this RAM does NOT. I plan returning this kit and purchasing a CS Dominator 6GB kit. Nearly twice as expensive, but if I've learned anything from this it's that you get what you pay for.

Pros: This RAM is fast - I chose it for the low latency (CL7). No errors on fastest speed with memtest86+.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: I run this on a Gigabyte EX58-UD5, timings are as follows: CL-7, RTC-7, RP-7, RAS-24, RC-27, RFC-60, WR-8, WTR-4, RTP-4, CR-1T @ 1600MHz (133MHz x 12.0 multiplier) DRAM Voltage: 1.620V

Pros: Works at specified rating with CPU OC. Great price. 6 Gigs.

Cons: Since I cannot clock my 920 over 181 QPI I cannot run the ram exactly where I want to.

Overall Review: This is not OCZs fault, but my rather mundane i7. My particular chip only clocks up to 3.6 or so. Others have had much better success. I have used OCZ for my last 2 builds and it is great ram. I always use the platinum. Great ram. Would buy again and may get another 6 Gigs for 12 total.

Pros: This triple channel kit from OCZ is an absolutely amazing product for the price... and I say that having paid about $40 more for this kit roughly a month ago. So at $119 it is a steal. Being that it is rated to run at 1600 MHz, it has a number of potential benefits being that its price for the speed/timings is so good: First, you will have more flexibility in choosing memory speeds while overclocking because of the increased headroom (though some i7 studies seem to suggest real world impact -outside of benchmarks- on higher memory speeds makes little difference with the i7 being that its memory bandwidth is already so high); and second, you can run this memory at lower than rated speeds with substantially less voltage to the DRAM bus (in my case, I was able to run this memory at between 1400 and 1450MHz at 7-7-7-20 at 1.51106 volts.. the lowest possible setting on the Ramapage II Ext.) Simply put, the price for this memory kit's performance is phenomenal. Also looks really good.

Cons: If for some reason you happen to be afraid of entering your BIOS and messing with the settings therein, you may not like having to manually enter the timings to get what this kit is rated for. My system if left on [AUTO] will default to 9-9-9-24 (to me having to change this is not a con). The biggest con for me was that it absolutely will not run at a full 1600MHz with 7-7-7-24 timings at 1.65v. It does however get really close. Anything above roughly 1565MHz and my system will under no circumstances stabilize. At a baseclock of 194 and DDR3 memory speeds of 1555MHz with 7-7-7-20 timings, my i7 920 will run at close to 4.1GHz (turbo enabled) without any issues (over 20 hours of Prime95 with no errors). At a baseclock of 195 and DDR3 memory speeds of 1563MHz with 7-7-7-24 timings, it is unable to pass even a couple minutes of P95. No, it is not issues with CPU or QPI/DRAM Core voltage, as the only setting that needs to be changed to arrive at stability is lowering the memory speed

Overall Review: I have also tested this with multiple other KNOWN stable settings on my system, all of which returned the same results. One being a stock i7920 setup running at 2.66GHz.. with the only settings in the BIOS changed being memory speed of 1600MHz and DRAM Bus Voltage at 1.65 (I have tried this with both a 4.8 and 6.4 QPI transfer rate).. fails prime 95 instantly. Same settings with lower memory speed runs absolutely fine. Running the i7920 at a Bclock of 157 for a mild overclock of 3.14GHz and memory speeds of 1574 fail instantly, where lowering the memory speed again completely solves the problem. Contrary to what one other [perhaps no so nice :)]reviewer seems to believe, some of us have done our homework, kept detailed logs of all settings and results, and come to our conclusions based upon actual evidence. I know without a doubt that my particular kit will not for any reason run at its rated specs (maybe just my kit). This is the only reason I am giving it 4 out of 5. Great purchase!

Pros: At the time of my purchase, the OCZ 3x2GB Platinum series had the lowest timings available for triple channel 1600MHz kits - AND - the best pricing from beloved newegg. Plugged into X58 mobo with i7 920. First installed running default 1066 @ 8-8-8-24 on 1.5v and had no issues. Took some tweaks to figure out how to get the ram to run at 1600 @ 7-7-7-20 on 1.6v but got it sorted out and been stable without issue!

Cons: Originally OCZ specs showed these at 7-7-7-20 on 1.5v but I think that was a marketing blunder... as the 1.5v is the default and to manually set the timings lower requires an overvolt up to 1.65v - OCZ never responded to my queries, but I sorted it out through trial and error.

Overall Review: EVGA X58 + Intel i7 920 + OCZ 3x2GB Platinum 1600MHz @ 7-7-7-20 on 1.6v All motherboard BIOS settings vary... if you have an EVGA mobo, visit the evga forums for detailed and simple walkthroughs on the BIOS settings to OC the i7 and this OCZ ram.

Pros: I had just purchased a new system and this was the ram I purchased for my new i7 build. I purchased this along with the Gigabyte EX58-UD4P motherboard and 920 2.66GHz CPU and Corsair 750w PSU. I normally don't overclock the ram and set up my system to try and reach 3.6GHz give or take for the 920 CPU. From my reading this is about the best bang for your buck as far as speed/power/cost goes. After tweaking my D0 stepping 920 to a 3.67GHz at 1.18v -> 1.15v under load and setting my ram at 1.68v -> 1.66v under load (specs call for 1.64v) I was able to get my ram to 1632 at the following timings 7-7-7-18. It's possible I could push it slighly lower but I'd probably need to increase the voltage and I'm quite happy with the settings. 7-7-7-18 is like DDR 3.5-3.5-3.5-9 so that's smoking. The ram works great, has lower timings that the specs say. Bottom line get it. If you can't get these specs or close then you settings for your mobo are wrong or the board is average.

Cons: ZERO, NONE, NADA! (FYI: Manually set you ram to 1.64v in the BIOS) This is not a CON, but make sure you do this if you are having issue. Good Luck!

Overall Review: When leaving the ram setting to auto the voltage was 1.69v but that was with my tight timings. OCZ recommends 1.64v and you should set you ram to manual voltage in the bios and set it accordingly. If you motherboard has the option to manually change the timings then set those to the specs of 7-7-7-24. If you are overclocking then please do not blame the ram if it's not reaching the required timings. The default is 1600 and I am at 1632 with 7-7-7-18 timings but I'm using 1.68v or 1.66v under load which is only .02 volts more than spec, which I'm fine with. I was able to find a good pdf file that was written for the EX58-EXTREME mobo. The bios settings were the same for me and I learned alot bout the settings I needed to reach not only for ram but for overclocking. If you have a good motherboard and the correct settings in your bios the ram will run just fine at 1600 with 7-7-7-24 default timings. If you can tweak you can get a little more out of it with more voltage.
