Pros: - Excellent Range - Once setup, the extender works seamlessly with existing wifi signal, so that only one wifi signal is present, not like other extenders with their own separate login.
Cons: - Software Configuration, and access
Overall Review: I bought this particular unit to compliment my Netgear Nighthawk R8500, since both are from the same manufacture and have the same specifications. After plugging the unit in and hitting WPS button on both my router and the extender, things looked pretty good. It connected and all lights were good. It wasn't until I checked my wifi signal with my phone did I notice a problem. The extender completely reconfigured my existing wifi setting on my router. It changed both the SSID names as well my passwords. Luckily I am very familiar with my router configuration and was able to correct the changes made by the extender. Once that was corrected everything was good. I also recommend connecting to the unit using the assigned ip address by your router since I could not connect using "http://www.mywifiext.net". Once in to the extender, you can further tweak it, and update the firmware, which there was an update out of the box. Of note, the extender is using the secondary 5G signal provided by my router as the pipe for communications between the two units, which is good since I have a lot of wireless/smart home devices.
