Pros: This is a lot like Win 7 but it does have elements from Win 8 and 8.1 (such as the tiles and modified start menu). Very stable and reliable Doesn't take as much RAM for background processes when compared to Win 8 and 8.1 About $10 more than Win 7 Support is relatively average for a busy company like Microsoft.
Cons: Personal issue: Some of the items move to certain places and if you search for certain things they may not come first (such as task manager). Cortana is something that takes time to calibrate if being used. But it does get better over time as it recognizes your voice.
Overall Review: If you don't know where or how to download/install Win 10, then please use the following link: http://www.howtogeek.com/197559/how-to-install-windows-10-on-your-pc/ I recommend making a disc and/or usb copy of the windows install for a rainy day
Pros: - Easy download, immediate delivery - Retail version for worry free unlimited hardware changes - Official, Microsoft approved - Peace of mind
Cons: - N/A
Pros: Easy to use and easy to install. Understood/comprehended by most end users.
Cons: Price. Lack of remote access capability built in.
Overall Review: Used for a HTPC build. Was easy and quick to install and complete all configurations. Windows is easy to use for most end users, and it was easy to configure for most HTPC configurations, including sharing storage, installing and configuring streaming software, and software RAID and driver setups. Linux is a preferred solution by many computer savvy users, however it requires a more sophisticated design and implementation plan than Windows with negligible performance advantages in many cases, such as HTPC. File and folder permissions must be explicit in Linux, something that many HTPC builders get frustrated over with the use of this OS. Windows is pricey though, even the electronic download version, which is what this review pertains to. I would expect at least a 33% discount for an electronic version due to shipping and physical manufacture, documentation, packaging, and handling savings.
Overall Review: As an electronic delivery purchase, delivery should be instant, or at least on the order of minutes. It took a couple days to get my key.
Pros: It's the latest Windows.
Cons: Well I had a bit of a problem with this one but I think my situation is unique to only a few people. I bought new components to rebuild my PC and the motherboard required Windows 10. I was using Windows 7. So I bought Windows 10 and installed it. BUT because of the hardware changes I made to the PC I couldn't activate Windows as it wasn't associating this new PC to my Microsoft account. Also I followed the link sent by Newegg and it downloaded Windows 10 Pro not Windows 10 Home Full Retail which is what I bought. I had to talk to Microsoft and let them take control over my PC to correct the problem. It took much longer than it should have.
Overall Review: Windows 10 is fine, but if you've made a lot of changes to your PC then I highly suggest that you skip the middleman (Newegg) and buy it directly from the Microsoft website as that way they have the proof of purchase and it will associate it with your Microsoft account.
Pros: ...Download the Full retail copy instead the OEM....The Key was emailed to me in few minutes.Easy instalation and OS work fine.I'll create a boot usb drive.
Cons: none
Overall Review: For a few more $$...get the FULL RETAIL version instead the OEM.The DOWNLOAD option is cheaper
Pros: - Easiest Upgrade Ever!!!! - My fast running system actually runs a little faster now!.
Cons: - New always stinks, but I have nothing worthy to put here.
Overall Review: I went from Win 7 Pro (64) to Win 10 on my main PC. My experiences with Win 10 on other systems was absolutely horrible like Me, Vista or Win 8. But I have some key programs that required Win 10 and it was time to bite the bullet. I set aside days, did backups and fully expected to end up doing a clean install and maybe end up reverting back. I even removed a few programs to make it easier on the software. Wow, did I miss judge this. This was the best upgrade experience I ever had. The key programs transferred, all my browser stuff and a long list of very proprietary stuff transferred to, including an old game that runs in Dos-Box that I goof around with from time to time and my anti-virus (Trend-Micro). I could make a list, not very long, of stuff that didn't take perfectly. Like my Turbo-Tax needed me to enter my serial number again and I had a task bar on my second screen that I needed to turn off... but this was really very nit-picky stuff. What I can see is it kept virtually all my customized system settings and I had a lot! But wait there's more, my computer runs better now! Yes, not only was it easy it is better. I thought I transitioned to another dimension where Microsoft stuff works, I feel so conflicted now LOL. But other than reinstalling things I removed this was done in a couple hours. I actually jumped on here today to write this, still shocked. For you geeks here is some of my basic system specs just to give you an idea. Win 7 Pro 64 to Win 10 Ver1909 build18363.657 MSI X299 Motherboard, I7-7820 Intel CPU, 32GB DDR4, NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1050Ti, Samsung SSD SATA Boot (windows 7 thing), 2x Samsung NVMe for storage and programs. My system always ran very good, fast and solid. And definitely has improved (just can't believe it). For those of you on the fence, just do it. Quick update: I had a few reboots and BSODs after I wrote this. All were related to my power controls and overclocking and were easily fixed. So this still continues to be relatively trouble free upgrade. I am seeing some CLSID permission issues in my Event Viewer but nothing out of the normal or stopping the show. All my programs that crossed the stream continue to run great.

Pros: - so my first experience with Windows was the 3.1 version, and I used most of them since, this one ranks about 3rd after XP and Windows 7 - they constantly improve this product as it supposed to be the last Windows, and they do listen to the community feedback - works well, very stable, rarely crashes - great improvement over Windows 8 - trouble free install on a SAMSUNG 970 PRO NVMe
Cons: - it supposed to be the last Windows, so what choice do you have? - lots of privacy concerns turn on by default, and other resource intensive processes that are not needed - update process was better on previous versions of Windows, many times it gets stuck at a certain %, then you toggle the screen and you will see that the progress bar moves - suffered from a fuzzy text, when laptop was connected to external display, which eventually got resolved through one of the feature pacts
Overall Review: I went for a retail since Microsoft is not releasing anymore PC based operating systems in the future, it is better to have a hard copy on hand then rely on OEM. Go back to Windows 7 update model allowing us to select updates we want to install, turn off telemetry and all those resource hogging useless processes, and privacy settings on off, then I will give it 5 eggs rating
