Recommended For

• Mobile office workers who move between meetings or work away from outlets and need a compact Windows laptop for documents, browsing, and video calls; an independent test of the 13.8-inch Intel model measured 11 hours 44 minutes for mixed office work and video calls.
• Business users whose required Windows apps or peripherals are better suited to an Intel-based PC than an ARM-based one; the Intel version is a fit when compatibility with a conventional Intel Windows setup is a priority.
• Windows-focused professionals who want a portable 13.8-inch work laptop with Windows 11 Pro, a touchscreen, and business-oriented security features for day-to-day productivity.
• Users who regularly connect to external displays or docks for a desk-based work setup; the Intel business model supports Thunderbolt 4 over USB-C.

Real-World Use Scenarios

• For a workday of writing, spreadsheets, web research, and video meetings, the 13.8-inch Intel Surface Laptop 7 can handle typical office work away from an outlet; an independent test of an Intel 13.8-inch model measured 11 hours 44 minutes in a mixed productivity test, though battery life varies by configuration and workload.
• For remote meetings between home, office, or campus, the Full HD front camera and Windows Studio Effects support video calls, while the tested Intel 13.8-inch model sustained nearly 12 hours in a mixed workload that included video conferencing.
• For commuting or working from different locations, its compact laptop format makes it practical to carry between stops; the touchscreen also lets users tap through documents and web pages when that feels easier than using the trackpad.
• For a fixed desk setup, users can connect compatible Thunderbolt accessories or a dock and drive up to two 4K external monitors, making it easier to expand the workspace for documents, calls, and browser windows.
• For watching downloaded shows or other Full HD video during travel, the laptop can run for an extended viewing session; an independent test of an Intel 13.8-inch model measured 17 hours 19 minutes of video playback, although results depend on settings and configuration.
