Pros: First of all this "gaming" version of the AC3200 is actually CHEAPER than the normal version as of this writing. The router is really easy to setup and offers most features that the average gamer needs. I personally like the fact that it can be reset remotely, has easy VPN accessibility, and offers multiple DNS options. The 5ghz wifi is strong as well.
Cons: No custom firmware available, doesn't have as many options as earlier Linksys offerings.
Pros: I had a LINKSYS router before this, I feel a LITTLE improvement(not much) , looks cool and is ready for OPEN SOURCE software(not done it yet).
Better distribution of bandwidth on devices.
Cons: I don't know if is the Linksys software (updated first before use, up to date ) or my Laptop(DELL XPS M1530) in particular( Bluetooth-WiFi factory card) or WINDOWS 10, but it kick me out of the network every now and then,( I just turn on/off Bluetooth-WiFi card again and again) to get back on line.
up to date on ALL SOFTWARE on ALL DEVICES (mention here)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Overall Review: If you are a gamer (which I am not ) it could help you better with bandwidth but for day to day ytube,FB,email is ok, I was expecting waaaaaaay to much of it but it still a good upgrade router,
I HAVE 100 MBPS download/speed from my provider and on all my devices I get 15-40mps average on a single device !
Pros: Its fast
range is good, covers my whole house
very simple to use, no really its too simple: plug in, set your passwords and forget about it
Wifi connection is solid
Cons: my network setup: 7 custom gaming pcs built by me, 4 smartphones 4 smart tvs, 2 rokus, and a kodi
~hardly any admin control
~parental controls NOPE
~no way to kick someone off the internet or put a freeze on thier access
~guest access is a huge website based security hole and should be disabled
~no way to monitor who is using what % of the internet but it does show total %
Killer Prioritization is a gimmick becuase its a huge selling point with 0 details about it which is borderline false advertisement. maybee 10% of the population can take advantage of it. i have absolutely 0 devices with a killer NIC and i wont any time soon. so i wasted money not getting the router i actually wanted for this thinking that a router with a feature called "killer" would be the better choice for a family full of gamers. should have done more research becuase im not buying a dell or alienware pc just to get a networking card and finding a current one is too much hassle..
and heres my major gripe about this thing and what ultimately made me decide to make a reveiw on it. We have a 16 year old daughter who has many behavior problems. since its a dual band router that means there are 2 frequencys that throw a wifi signal. each has its own password. when she gets in trouble we shut the wifi off for her for a specified amount of time becuase its really the only way to truly punish her. with this router however, the only way to do that is you change the wifi password for 2.4 ghz and hit save. it works. do that with the 5ghz, hit save and it reverts on page refresh. EVERY SINGLE TIME. theres nothing submitted to linksys about other people having this problem in thier forums about "settings not saving" but its too late im already turned off to this thing and its about to collect dust in my closet as a back up router whenever my new Asus ROG router gets here.
Overall Review: if you want a simple gaming router that works 100% of the time, go for it it has great range and its stable
if you want control. find something better that suits you
Pros: Increased my send and receive rates greatly.
The wireless speed is really nice even from far away.
Looks really nice .
A wide variety of controls and options for it in the linksys app.
The date of arrival was 3 days earlier than anticipated which was convenient for me
Cons: I've had this for three days, and have disconnected from games numerous times to the point were it has led to cool downs on matchmaking and suspension.
My ping has remained about the same and even higher in some cases. In other words I've had times of lower ping on a 5 year old Net gear router.
the CPU's run pretty hot.
Overall Review: I'm going to try to give this router more time but if problems continue I'm most likely going to return it.
So far, I feel this this router really isn't worth the price.
Pros: This is by the far the best dual band router i have ever used. Speed is great setup is super easy lots of features available
Cons: none its perfect
Overall Review: This product is A++++++ went from having streaming problems with my other netgear router this router is the best thanks linksys
Cons: WIFI is flakey, WIFI drops, WIFI cannot handle internet connection speeds. Internet drops on WIFI and WIRED ports. Sometimes Router states it's connected to the net but no device cannot access the internet. After working with Linksys with no resolve I requested an RMA from Newegg.
Overall Review: Linksys released this unfinished and is trying to field repair it with firmware updates. This unit needs to be recalled as it is a complete failure.
