Cons: Should have shipped ready to install. Still not listed on LG's product support page. Might be easier just to go with another drive from the start.

Pros: Ran the drive through a battery of tests using Nero speed disc and I am quite satisfied with the results. Drive burns a 16X dvd at 22X which was a pleasant surprise. I have other burners that aren't able to do that. The drive was shipped with TL02 firmware so all of the earlier problems that I saw mentioned do not exist in this drive.

Cons: The LED is green. I was hoping for Blue.

Overall Review: The first drive was DOA, but I guess that sooner or later it had to happen to me. I just hate having to pay for shipping the drive back. It would be different if the drive worked and I just didn't want it, but it was DOA. Shipping the drive back cost half the price of the drive.

Cons: Some people reported getting software for the lightscribe, i did not. Not a huge deal, but knowing others got software is a bummer

Overall Review: I crack up at the people who mark of eggs for OEM products because they didn't come with manuals or cables. ROFL - do us all a favor and look up OEM!

Pros: from the moment i installed it to present i had no issues with the hardware whatsoever, its sata and it has lightscribe support

Cons: the software you get with the drive is "C-R-A-P-"!!! UNBELIEVABLY "R-E-T-A-R-D-E-D"!!!!... so don't waste your time installing it.

Overall Review: I personally prefer Nero software for burning CD/DVD; it never lets me down.

Pros: Does what it is supposed to. Have burned many discs already this week. Both lightscribe and sharpies. The lightscribe feature is pretty cool, have only used that feature once so far. Overall operation is much quiter than the Lite-on that it replaced. Door is smooth and quiet. May get another one to replace my other IDE optical drive.

Overall Review: This was a snap to install. OS saw it right away, did not use the install disc. No Bluebirds with this one! For 27 bucks you can't go wrong. Newegg rocks as usual! Also bought Verbatim LS media worked great first try, just wished the $ was a little cheaper on the LS media.

Pros: The photo gallery doesn't show it, but mine came with a disc that included a firmware-updating utility and a labelling utility that can design both LightScribe labels and jewel-case labels, among other things. Working great in 64-bit Win7 Ultimate so far.

Cons: None so far.

Overall Review: If you're not already aware: go to Lightscribe dot com and get the latest Lightscribe core system software. Among other things, it will allow you the Enhanced Contrast option (slower LS burns, but better contrast). They've also got their own freebie label software and templates for download. You probably will want to disable the firmware updater after doing your update, or it'll run every time you start Windows.

Pros: Ordered 2 burners and they both came with software. I've always liked LG products because they're always top quality.
