Pros: Plug & Play. I use Nero software for BD burning and CHEAP BD 25 disks to burn data and movies to. Not one single coaster or error in more than 3 spindles burned. (About 150 disks. Using Optical Quantum BD 25's.) It takes about 1.5 hours to burn a full BD 25 movie to disk with data checking. Barely hear it running while burning. Burns DVD MoDisks and HIgh quality Verbatim BDs equally well.

Cons: None so far.

Overall Review: I got the Retail package which came with everything to hook it up and get started. Just Google for a FREE BD Movie playing software program to get going. It's not LG or the burner's fault that it doesn't play BD Movie disks out of the box. Keep in mind that most ALL DVD and BD drives are Sata I drives and NOT Sata II or III. Difference in speed will only be noticed while burning a disk in most cases. Not so much in transferring data from the Optical drive to a USB stick or HDD.

Pros: Bought this drive for the sole purpose of burning/testing M-DISC media. NewEgg needs to update the Tech Spec, but I confirmed with LG that on their spec sheet that this drive, in fact, is "M-DISC READY" and not "M-DISC SUPPORTED". The key difference is that M-DISC Ready drives Write to M-Disc media and M-Disc Supported means it can read the disc. This is a silly marketing ploy as any written data to M-Discs are 100% DVD-R compatible and follow ISO standards so ANY DVD Reader will able to access the content of these discs which has a rock-like material substrate that will not degrade at all. Blu-Ray (SL) of 25GB on these M-Discs will really be the way to go to preserve important archival video and photos for personal use. LG Spec Sheet: http://www.lg.com/us/data-storage/lg-BH16NS40

Cons: None at this time. Quiet drive and make sure you update the firmware to get the current write strategies for media.

Overall Review: NewEgg please update the Spec sheet to include "M-DISC 4X CLV" on the Write side of the list.

Pros: i like the burner , it is fast and quiet. it burns the speeds listed. no buffer under run errors.

Cons: to play blu ray movies you need a hdcp capable monitor. I had to get a new monitor. the led light could be brighter in the front of the drive. it is hard to see at a slight angle.

Pros: Reads and writes to just about any media you can find. I've burned tons of DVD-DL and a number of BD-DL disks. I had sooo many problems with other units burning DL disks, but this one has yet to burn a coaster.

Cons: A bit pricey, but it beats spending money on a lesser unit that won't do what it's advertised to do. When burning and fully spun-up, the disk in the tray is really flying, and you can certainly hear it sing. But normal reading is next to silent.

Overall Review: Been through a dozen BD burners, and this is the only one that does everything it's supposed to do without errors or complaint.

Pros: no coasters, Fast, reads more than most as far as compatable br discs. I have two of the model number before this drive in older builds and this if ofr the newest build. Used an old computer to make sure i had no issues with it. The model i know from the go will burn a 25 gig disc for data in about 12 minutes. and that was using a 4x bluray disc the amazing part is the reader read the disc as an 8x and the time was even faster. Optical Quantam Discs sold on Egg here.. I am happy as this is the newest faster model and it is another lg drive software is as usual.. could always be better but it does work .. so no problem. NO Coasters in 50 blu ray discs for Opticala Quantum so that should give you all an idea.

Overall Review: one thought i have had which i forgot.. i am able to even do a little surfing while burning the discs. I do not recommend doing that with burning operations gonig on.. bu i got lucky on that one.

Pros: Everything works smoothly. M-Discs burn without any issues. Especially like the front switch.

Overall Review: M-Disc compatibility makes this the one to get if permanent archiving is important.

Overall Review: It's nice that it comes with the necessary software to play Blu-Ray media in the box. This saves the consumer a significant amount of hassle and extra cost.

Cons: Doesn't read right, doesn't write right. Doesn't work much at all. But apparently I can't return it.

Overall Review: LG products have worked well for me in the past. Not sure what went wrong this time.
