System Requirements
Computer with a USB-C, USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 port Latest version of Mac OS 10.12 or later / Latest version of Windows 10 or later Minimum free disk space: 600MB recommended
Pros: Everything is high quality, from case, drive, cables, power, online manual, registration. The USB-C connection seems to work steady and well. Has 5 year warranty. The front of the case is black & the body is a textured gun metal grey.
Cons: In Windows 10, the drive sleep mode does not wake with 1 sec. button press after it's "safely removed". The large flashing blue light in front is a bad idea for someone who has epilepsy. I had to place it on the far side of the tower, out of sight.
Overall Review: Never thought much about LaCie until the site said it's the premium brand of Seagate.
Cons: - Randomly disconnects, interrupting anything you happen to be doing with the drive at the time.
Overall Review: There aren't many options when it comes to finding 10TB at a low price, but you get what you pay for. Even after disabling all the power saving options in windows, turning off the USB sleep mode, trying different USB ports, and changing BIOS USB options, the drive still resets itself randomly. This obviously will disrupt anything you are doing with the drive when it does, causing apps to crash and folders to close. Over a month of research and attempts to disable the "sleep mode" have resulted in no way to stop it from happening. So it's probably better to only use this drive as a backup, and don't work from it, and just hope it doesn't turn itself off while backing up your files, or you'll end up with lost data.

nice external drive8/3/2021 11:14:15 AM
Pros: Design are modern.
Stores a lot of data.
Necessary adapter and wires are included.
Physical size is not too large.
Overall Review: This is a nice external drive. I replaced one that doesn't store enough backup data. Years ago, I thought 500 GB would be more than enough. I like the size of this drive. The light to show it is turned on is bright and large so you know it is on.

Best Deal for quality large storage at a fraction of the price.6/23/2021 8:12:06 PM
Pros: I cannot complain for the price at Newegg basically compensates for the intermitent noise running a tad hot. But I'm confident it will be fine. Best deal I've got for a HD. I shopped around and Newegg was by far the best deal and had it in stock. Not even you know who had it in stock.
Cons: No internal fan so it gets a tad hot and the software that you're encouraged to use is a bit quirky for my taste Ohh and I wish I knew how to turn off the bright blue light as it strobes when processing. Can be distracting.
Overall Review: I would still highly recommend because anything better would cost double. So No complaints, just feedback.
