The Kingston SKC600/2048G is a 2TB 2.5-inch SATA III internal SSD with 3D TLC memory and 2GB DRAM cache, suited to users expanding storage or upgrading a compatible SATA-based desktop or laptop.
Recommended For
- People upgrading an older laptop or desktop that has a 2.5-inch SATA bay: the KC600 offers a straightforward SSD replacement when the system cannot use an M.2 NVMe drive.
- Users who need up to 2TB of internal storage in a SATA-only computer—for example, to keep a large game or media library on the system without replacing the computer.
- People replacing a hard drive or older SSD who want a SATA drive with DRAM and strong performance for its interface, rather than a basic low-cost SATA model.
- Users who specifically need hardware-based drive encryption: Kingston lists AES 256-bit encryption, TCG Opal 2.0, and eDrive support for the KC600.
