Pros: - very easy to setup
- lots of customization with the functionality and settings
- games play very well normally at the highest settings
- great looking and aesthetically pleasing design
- not that heavy for a gaming laptop

Cons: - slight cooling issue as the intakes are both above and below the laptop and it isn't the best airflow for the lower intake. Solved this by building a small rack that raises the laptop about 3" off the surface and allows better airflow.

Overall Review: - would definitely recommend to others

Pros: Ultra fast, fluid, stylish, run everything really great! The 1060 in it is very good!

Cons: It become a bit hot while playing, but still at safe temperature.

Pros: Handle last game pretty well.... World of Tank 1.0 at 115-120 fps ultra.
Thin....quiet....

Cons: Top surface keyboard , near the screen...is too hot to touch , when playing....
How long this laptop will last....???

Pros: looks nice.

Cons: won't turn on.
Customer service from Asus wants me to send it to them to fix it. Why would you fix a brand new laptop that you just opened (and charged) and would not turn on? The only thing they had me try was to unplug it, hold the power button for 60 seconds, plug back in and try it again. The colors on the keyboard looked nice, but nothing else would turn on. I asked for a supervisor in CS, he had no other options than to send it to them. I will return it and buy a different brand of gaming laptop and suggest you do the same.

Overall Review: Buy some brand other than Asus.

Pros: -Beautiful product
-Wonderful Display

Cons: -Are you a masochist and enjoy being ignored by others for your TANTALIZING TROUSER TRAVELS!?
-Do you like your fingers? TOO BAD, because after using this product, you won't have any!
-Do you like having to restart a game because your computer black screens and then hard crashes?
-Do you want water to boil on your computer?
-Do you want this PC to become your second heater?
-Do you want to spend 1599.00 dollars just for this PC to decide that it suddenly has no HDD?
-Do you enjoy not being able to have a functioning keyboard?
-Do you enjoy the sound of a Boeing 757 taking off right next to your house?
-Do you enjoy troubleshooting random problems only to be stonewalled and ignored by ASUS because you need help?
-Do you enjoy permanent 100% brightness red back-lit keyboards at 3AM while your eyes want to end it all?
If not, too bad because ASUS will force you to deal with these problems on your own!
If so, this PC is perfect for you!

Ok. In all seriousness, this computer has a lot of issues. Let's begin with the keyboard. One and half months into usage, and my function keys have stopped working, which is extremely frustrating when you are used to shortcuts on your PC. In addition, the computer is excessively loud and obnoxious. I have BOSE QC-15's and I can hear the fan perfectly. My headset has protected my ears from the shredding sounds of crying babies on the plane, but it didn't protect my ears from the fan. Despite the fan being louder than a airplane turbine, it does absolutely nothing to cool my computer, which fluctuated between a whopping 90-100 degrees Celsius. If I wanted to melt the inside of my computer, I would have used it as firewood.

Performance-wise, this PC does not perform. If you count consistent black screening/hard crashing good performance, well; stop it, get some help. When this happens, it is not infrequent for files and games to completely disappear from my hard drive, which defeats the purpose of SAVING. Saving is important, don't you think?

But wait! There's more! Like spending more money on an additional HDD, but then, it disappears! It's not even there. Vegeta, what does the scouter say about its power level? ITS OVER.......nothing....because it doesn't exist. Its not there. I lost over 300 gigabytes worth of games and files because of that.

But wait, is it a bird? A plane? Is it ASUS swooping in, coming in to save the day? Lol I wish. Several support tickets later and a curt email ignoring my request for a replacement, I decided to give the ASUS rep a list of all the problems I've experienced and NICELY tried using logic and my obvious charm to swoon my rep into giving me a replacement.

One week later....
"Please provide your return shipping address. The notebook was purchased in Dec. 2017. Can you inform when you received the case# _____________. We can create you an RMA and provide you a shipping label, but ASUS will only ship to a physical address after repairs are completed."

So after DAYS of waiting for a rep from ASUS, this is what I get....
Wonderful. I love wasting my time and getting nowhere.
But its ok, ASUS wants you to waste time. That way, you can shut up and pretend your PC is perfectly normal.

But you know what? I can maybe, maybe forget about the software and hardware issues, the disrespect from the ASUS rep I "talked" to, but you know what the biggest travesty of all is? THE STICKERS ARE CROOKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pros: -Beautiful
-Quite fast

Cons: -The weird arrows positionning
-The laptop idle at 55-60degrees, and the fan start at 70, so any program will make the fan start
-If the fan starts, and it will, people around you will ask you if its a laptop or a server that you get...

Good Product, unacceptable repair service from Newegg 2/22/2018 12:51:40 PM

Pros: Light and powerful gaming laptop

Cons: Can get a little loud
might get a little hot from what other are saying (haven't pushed demanding gaming on it yet)
awkward arrow key location
no optical drive
bloatware

Overall Review: Nice Product but very unacceptable Newegg repair service. Product Rating would be 4-5, but Newegg repair service rating would be 1-2.

ASUS Aura Keyboard lighting does not work, and ASUS live update is stuck on a critical update. Returned to Newegg to fix/replace, they 'found' no issues so they reimaged and bench mark tested and returned to me. Lo and behold, still no ASUS Aura Keyboard and ASUS Live update is still stuck. These items might be minor but unacceptable on a brand new laptop.

Additionally, Newegg Repair service timeline is very misleading, read somewhere it is suppose to take 5-7 days with additionally 2-3 days if it is a computer. However, I was told it'll take 7-10 days to repair once the warehouse receives the product, not when it is first received by newegg. My computer sat on a shelf for over 5 business days before the 'repair' got started, thenI was then quoted it'll take 7-10 days of turnaround at the warehouse that before it gets sent out. So for everyone out there, be cautioned that if you send a laptop back to Newegg for repair or replacement, it'll take close to 30 days before you see the laptop again. Though, I did appreciate that Newegg expedited the shipping back to me once I engaged a Newegg representative.

By the way, caution to all ASUS users about installing a fresh version of Windows. Many ASUS applications will not work with a new OS install, they requires an ASUS version of Windows 10 in order to run specific ASUS applications (even if you download the application from the ASUS website). In my case, ASUS Aura Keyboard and ASUS Gaming Visual will not work, (got ASUS Gaming Visual working using recovery instead). If you don't care about some of these ASUS specific applications, then by all mean, install a brand new window to get rid of those annoying bloatware.

Sorry for the rant, definitely not a good buying experience.

Maybe I got unlucky with my unit 1/31/2018 6:08:02 PM

Pros: -Beautiful
-Specs obviously

Cons: - idle in the 50-60
-Overheat
- Fans are always at full speed and really loud
- Crash
- Even after undervolting the gpu AND the cpu, temps were still in the 90s

Overall Review: When I opened the box, I was stunned by how beautiful the unit was, it is truly a masterpiece.

Soon after, I wanted to play (I mean, it is a 2000$ gaming laptop after all)

List of games that I couldn't play; Witcher 3, Dark souls 3, BF1 (BF1 would crash in the MENU)

Before people come crying, yes, everything was updated bios/gpu drivers and such.

I contacted Asus and got told that a laptop reaching 90s+ was normal and that my fingers getting uncomfortable because it was too hot was also normal.

That's when I decided to undervolt, like many post on google suggested. It did shave some degrees, but it was still too hot.

The only two games that seemed to be alright, were watch dogs 2 (worked around 60% of the time) and league of legends (Even if it did reach 85 degrees)

To give you an idea, my girlfriend laptop, a MSI with a 7700HQ and a 1050ti manage to stay under the 70s degrees mark while pumping more fps than the 1060 gtx with the same settings. Bonus point for her laptop; no games crash on it.


Then I decided to format windows since I have a guenine windows 10 pro copy.

Temps we're still high, asus rog center wouldn't show my cpu speed, the logo on the cover wouldn't light up, I had to reinstall the keybind so that I could use the overboost for the fan.

Maybe I got reaaallllyyy unlucky, maybe for some this laptop will work flawless, but I'm still in my return window and I really hope to get a refund.
