The GIGASTONE Game Turbo GT6470 is a 2TB M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD with a pre-installed low-profile heatsink, rated for sequential reads up to 7,300MB/s and writes up to 6,900MB/s. It suits gamers expanding compatible PC or PS5 storage, as well as creators working with demanding files.
Recommended For
- PS5 owners who need more space for installed games and want a PCIe Gen4 M.2 drive with a built-in heatsink. Check that the heatsink fits your PS5 model; Sony notes that speed alone does not guarantee identical performance to the console’s internal SSD.
- PC gamers building or upgrading a desktop with a PCIe Gen4 M.2 slot who want a 2TB drive for a large game library and fast game loading.
- Video, photo, or 3D creators whose desktop supports an M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 drive and who want fast local storage for active project files and media.
- Laptop owners upgrading a system with an accessible M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 NVMe slot, provided the laptop has room for this drive’s heatsink.
Real-World Use Scenarios
- A PS5 owner running short on console storage can install this M.2 drive, move or download games to it, and play supported PS5 titles without first copying them back from USB storage; confirm the console and heatsink fit PlayStation’s requirements before purchase.
- A PC gamer moving a large game library from a hard drive to this SSD can expect less waiting during game launches and level loads; compared with an already-fast SSD, the difference may be much smaller.
- A PS5 player who wants to keep more games installed can use the 2TB capacity as a dedicated game library, reducing the need to delete and reinstall titles as often.
- A desktop user upgrading from a hard drive can put Windows, applications, and frequently used files on the SSD to reduce storage-related waits when starting the system and opening programs.
- A video editor or 3D artist can keep active project files and frequently accessed assets on the drive, making them quicker to load than from a hard drive; it does not by itself guarantee faster rendering.
