Overall Review: I actually Called NewEgg on the phone and spoke with someone who said they would remove my previous negative review. They did NOT.<br>It turns out my previous negative review may be based on a coincidence. For whatever reason my system had become unstable after installing this power supply. It turns out suddenly my PCI express x8 NIC Option ROM suddenly clashed with the UEFI Intel RAID Option ROM. I moved the NIC and turned off it's Boot ROM and all is well now. All I did was swap power supplies and my Intel Mobo RAID was intermittent and disappeared from the UEFI boot list. Pros: 100% modular and over 90% power efficient. Also totally silent. 1000 watts is plenty of power for my new rig. See other thoughts but when you buy EVGA you are buying happiness. =D

Cons: This power supply was not DOA but literally exploded after 7 hours of use. Sounded like a capacitor. RMA process was the best I could ever have expected.

Overall Review: Alright, so this power supply only worked for 7 hours of driver installs, steam downloads, and windows update restarts. During a boot up after a restart, I was sitting there with my dog and all of a sudden POP! a capacitor exploded. Loud as heck haha. Anyhow... I dont believe it fried anything. Here is what everyone reading this should take away from my opinion and rating. There was a small recall of this product due to a number of units not receiving enough thermal padding. My unit was just outside the selection of defective products but when i contacted EVGA via the phone i got a knowledgeable and helpful guy looking to have a helpful conversation... not a customer relations rant. He told me step by step where i could monitor the Advanced RMA he set up for me and how, at NO cost to me, they would send me a new product right away with 3 day select shipping complete with a return shipping label for the defective PSU. He also told me that if i wanted they could send it without the accessories so that the cords connected through my rig could remain and we only replace the PSU itself. I thanked him, wished him a happy Christmas and went to the sight to check i was gettign what he proposed. Sure enough everything was as he said and I am a very happy customer awaiting the new PSU. Trust these guys. They will do good by you and make quality products that they verify even at expense to them. Pros: TL;DR: Biggest advantage over the 1600w G2 is the inclusion of ECO mode, which allows for slient operation at "low loads," which in my case is 3 GPUs and an OC'd i7! This is a great PSU with excellent build quality, top-of-the-line components, thick gauge cables and high end design. Of course, that's all to be expected from an EVGA Product at this price point. Knowing EVGA, I figured this was going to be a rock-solid product even before I ordered it. I honestly had no doubts that this would be a good performer; my only question was regarding what I was actually getting by ordering this PSU instead of the (slightly) cheaper 1600w Gold version. Happily, I found one big difference that is really important to me: silence. In addition to the slightly more efficient rating (but honestly who really cares about the extra few % points there? My electricity isn't expensive enough for me to notice a difference), the 1600w P2 is equipped with EVGA's "ECO Mode." EVGA's website does a really poor job marketing this feature, as it's hard to find out exactly what it is and which products actually have it. When ECO mode is activated (by flipping a switch on the back of the PSU), the fan won't spin up at lower loads. This is actually a huge benefit because the fan is actually pretty loud when it spins. Also, because this thing provides such a massive amount of power, "low load" is actually a TON of power. In fact, I've never actually heard the fan come on when ECO mode was enabled, even when my system is at full load. And that's saying something because my system consists of: - 3 overclocked GTX 780ti - Overclocked i7 4770k - 6 Gentle Typhoon fans running at full speed. Did you get that? This thing considers 3 overclocked GPUs and an overclocked i7 a LOW load and is completely silent! That impresses me! Even if I decide not to add another GPU and a more power hungry processor, I will keep this PSU just for its ability to provide so much power silently.

Cons: -BIG. It's 9" long - ECO mode switch is located on the inner side of the PSU. Would have been nice to access the switch after installation.

Overall Review: Well worth the cost if you value efficiency, power and SILENCE

Pros: Very good PSU. Somewhat loud with higher loud but I run my fans on very low with watercooling. Delivers what it says...I'm running 4 R9 290s in quad fire with an i7 4770k all overclocked pulling 1300-1400W from the wall. Soooo many cables...more than you will ever need. To the reviewer Alex - I want to clarify for other people intent on purchasing. 90% efficiency means that it pulls FROM THE WALL 90%. Your system can still get 1600W max, but from the wall it will pull 1780W...your breaker and electrical wiring better be able to handle it. Also the EVGA 1600W should be able to handle SLI no sweat with 133A single rail. Either your unit is defective or some of your wiring may be loose...double check your wires :)

Cons: Can get a bit loud with high loud with high output but that is to be expected when under 1300W loud. :) Very long PSU so plan according.

Overall Review: All in all....excellent PSU!

Overall Review: -After building PC's for a long time EVGA is my goto brand for power supplies and video cards -Computer parts are always becoming more power efficient, power supplies are one of the only items you can truly "future proof"

Pros: Let's face it, none of us have real, proper equipments to measure PSU's authentic technical performances in a quantitative fashion, so I'm going to simply comment on things that work. 1. Eco-mode : it keeps this PSU from being audible while in a low-load situation, and primarily the reason why I chose this particular model over cheaper variants. It really is noise-less unless you start putting heavy and/or synthetic loads on your system. 2. Cables : its long black-sleeved design looks and feels more premium quality than some simple flat-rubber design seen in most other PSUs of this caliber. They not only look good, but are easier to work with inside the case as well. I was also happy to see that they kept its length long enough so that it can reach your CPU pwr-pins with ease even in a full tower case. 3. Packaging/Quality - it comes very well protected in a premium quality package with multiple layers of protections, and I highly doubt anyone will ever received a unit damaged while being shipped. As if this isn't enough, EVGA offers a 10-year warranty on this PSU. My mind is at ease.

Cons: 1. Tacky Red cables - unless you are going for black-red build theme, the PCI-E pwr cables that come standard in bright red colors will clash with almost everything inside of your case. I'm just not sure why EVGA chose not to go with the classic, fit-all, black. 2. PSU length - this unit, by far, is the longest PSU I've ever seen. My current full tower case could house it no problem now, but my options will be severely limited if the need arises in the future that I use this unit in some other enclosures.

Overall Review: Overall, it works. There's nothing more we can really write about its performances without very expensive proper testing equipments.

Overall Review: This is my second EVGA psu in 1 year. Because the first one died? Nope, cause I loved my 1000w one so much that I got a 1600w for my x99 build. both are running perfect 10 year warranty. Mic drop

Pros: Great PSU. High wattage, high amps. Amazing warranty. very good price considering the power. I can run 2 ATI Radeon 295X2's in crossfire with no issues!
