1. Check the Model & EMC Num on the rear cover.
2. Check the Model Identifier on the System Overview.
3. Check the Old Battery Model.

The year of the Mac is not the only reference, because even macs released in the same year have size and model differences that may result in the use of different battery and accessory models.
2: If your Mac Model is A1502
The Mac Model A1502, with a 13-inch display, was released in late 2013, mid-2014, and early 2015, and is powered by A1582 and A1493 batteries.
3: If your Mac Model is A1398
The Mac Model A1398, with a 15-inch display, the late 2012 & early 2013 version use the A1417 battery, the late 2013, mid 2014, mid 2015 version use the A1618 & A1494 batteries.
This Battery is only replace for battery type A1618 & A1494, Not replace for battery type A1417.
And only compatible with MacBook Pro Retina 15 inch A1398 Late 2013 & Mid 2014 & Mid 2015 Version, Which is not fit for A1398 Mid 2012 & Early 2013 Version. Please check before purchase.
