This thing is great

StarTech Adjustable Under-Desk Foot Rest Black
StarTech Adjustable Under-Desk Foot Rest Black

Pros: I'm very pleased with this foot rest. It has rubber feet that grip the floor firmly. The texture and grip of the foot pad is exactly what I was looking for. And the ability to rotate it on demand is more useful than I expected. I end up rocking it quite a bit throughout the day, but when I want it to remain in one position, it holds pretty steadily.

Cons: Can't think of any cons at the moment.

Overall Review: Very good product, especially compared to the prices of its competitors. So many of the others I looked at don't even have a grip on the surface, just some textured bumps or ridges, which makes them unbearable to use unless you're wearing shoes all day. I have a home office and don't want to wear shoes all day just to use my foot rest, so the grip on this one from StarTech is very important to me to help keep my feet from slipping.

Just what I needed

Rosewill NEON K81 RGB BR Wired Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, Kailh Brown Switches, 22 RGB LED Backlight Effects, 108 Keys, NKRO, Vivid Customizable Rim Backlights, Macro Hotkeys
Rosewill NEON K81 RGB BR Wired Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, Kailh Brown Switches, 22 RGB LED Backlight Effects, 108 Keys, NKRO, Vivid Customizable Rim Backlights, Macro Hotkeys

Pros: Brown keys give me the feel I want without the extra noise. The software for key input and lighting customization is robust. I like the wrist rest being separate so I can reposition it as I please, but I understand some people aren't as keen on this feature. Drivers actually work with my PC and the keyboard turns off when my PC is asleep (my old cheap keyboard would not do this unless I messed around with setting in BiOS, which I was not comfortable with). I like the weight of the keyboard and the solid grip of the rubber feet.

Cons: I wish the feet were a little taller or had multiple settings. The current setting is fine for the most part, but sometimes I find myself in positions where I'd like to adjust the height of the keyboard and cannot unless I stack a book under the feet.

Overall Review: It's a solid, dependable mechanical keyboard with robust software. Especially get it if you can on sale.

Good monitor

Asus VA24EHE 23.8" Full HD (1920x1080) 75Hz 5ms IPS FreeSync Monitor, Black
Asus VA24EHE 23.8" Full HD (1920x1080) 75Hz 5ms IPS FreeSync Monitor, Black

Pros: Clear screen Multiple settings that are easy to switch Great for work and gaming

Cons: Does not come with DisplayPort cable, only HDMI. This might not be a big deal for some, but I'm working with two monitors and only have 1 HDMI port to the motherboard (my other monitor is already in the HDMI). There are three DisplayPorts though, which are more reliable for high refresh rates and I prefer to use. Had to buy an adapter to use this monitor with the DisplayPorts.

Overall Review: It's a good monitor, I don't have much else to say about it except that if you need to use it with a DisplayPort, you'll need to get a DVI or HDMI to DisplayPort adapter.

Best build for the price

ABS Master Gaming PC - AMD Ryzen 5 3600 - GeForce RTX 2060 - 16GB DDR4 - 1TB SSD
ABS Master Gaming PC - AMD Ryzen 5 3600 - GeForce RTX 2060 - 16GB DDR4 - 1TB SSD

Pros: Strong build Runs quietly Great components Excellent price (especially on sale like when I bought) compared to similar customs or other pre-builts

Cons: The keyboard my version came with is a Gamdias Ares M1 "gaming keyboard", which is to say it's a basic keyboard that has lights. Don't get me wrong, it works fine, it's just not a gaming keyboard. It has rubber keys and no driver or customization options. No N-Key stroke either. It looks like a gaming keyboard, but it's not. It's basically a reskinned version of what I learned how to type on in elementary school. That's about the only complaint I have and it's really a minor one because a keyboard wasn't an important factor compared to the rest of the components in this PC for me. I can get a nicer keyboard at a good price later, and again, it does work, it's just not a proper gaming keyboard. For those who want the package deal to come with a good keyboard though, don't expect high quality out of the Gamdias M1.

Overall Review: I was playing with some custom-build ideas when I started to look at pre-builts for comparison. I realized I could not beat this PC for the price (I got during a flash sale) compared to what I wanted out of a custom. In fact, it offered more than what I wanted to build with at the same price point. Great quality PC components and case.
