Budget powerhouse!

AMD RYZEN 3 2200G Quad-Core 3.5 GHz (3.7 GHz Max Boost) Socket AM4 65W YD2200C5FBBOX Desktop Processor - Retail
AMD RYZEN 3 2200G Quad-Core 3.5 GHz (3.7 GHz Max Boost) Socket AM4 65W YD2200C5FBBOX Desktop Processor - Retail

Pros: My 2200G is the coolest running processor I have ever owned. I bought it as a replacement for a dead i5 4690k and paired it with an Asrock ab350 Pro4. Stock it performs equal to my old i5 at 4GHZ howver, I was easily able to overclock this processor with Ryzen Master to 3.9 GHz at 1.36875 volts which is a slight undervolt compared to its stock turbo boost voltage of 1.4. It never exceeds 60c when gaming and 65c when running synthetic benchmarks. I have a Wraith Prism cooler that I put on it and the cooler keeps the processor AND the VRMs on the motherboard nice and cool. With DDR4 3200MHz RAM the integrated Vega graphics are comparable to that of a GDDR5 GT1030 which is more than enough for any home theatre PC as well as gaming on medium-high settings at 1080p. I have chosen to use my old R9 390X with this CPU and it does NOT bottleneck at all.

Cons: Nada.

Overall Review: A $100 processor that performs equal in all tasks to my old i5 AND has better integrated graphics AND runs cooler, what else could I ask for?? If you're on a budget and haven't taken the plunge to 4k yet, THIS is the CPU to get! It also allows for a great upgrade path for the future when the 2200G will no longer be adequate.

Totally Useless

Orange KBC2880BK Black 104 Normal Keys 9 Function Keys USB Wired Ergonomic Keyboard

Pros: none

Cons: -didn't work out of the box

Overall Review: For something in this price point I'd recommend a logitech k20.

Amazing temps in a unique looking and SILENT package

be quiet! DARK ROCK TF Low Profile SilentWings CPU Cooler - 220W TDP
be quiet! DARK ROCK TF Low Profile SilentWings CPU Cooler - 220W TDP

Pros: The Dark Rock TF performs on par with a lot of liquid coolers that cost close to double of this even when it is not on sale. Sitting on top of an i5 4690k that was OC'd to 4.4GHz, the processor rarely went beyond 60c when gaming. Not only did this cooler do the job but best of all it did it QUIETLY. Even under heavy loads you would have to listen to the computer with your head practically in the case to hear it at all. My case fans that I added to my build a month or so later were much louder than this and I couldn't even hear it at all anymore.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Overall Review: I like the blacked out aesthetic of the cooler and I think that a few small LEDs bet ween the two layers of heatsink would make for a really cool "underglow" CPU cooler. I hope that be quiet! will make another generation of this cooler because top-down coolers are my favourite.

Great at first, but not for long.

COOLER MASTER MGZ-NDSG-N15M-R1 Master Gel Maker Nano, Born for Makers
COOLER MASTER MGZ-NDSG-N15M-R1 Master Gel Maker Nano, Born for Makers

Pros: This thermal compound worked very well for the first two weeks in my system between a Ryzen 2200g and a Wraith Prism Max cooler. Temps did not exceed 65c ever. It is non-conductive so you don't have to worry if it gets on any components or anything of that sort. The thermal compound, when new, has a great consistency that i was confident in when applying it for the first time. Fast forward to about two months in and... (see cons)

Cons: the thermal compound had fully cured and I had just received a Ryzen 5 2600 to upgrade my system. When i went to remove the cooler from the processor the Cooler Master Master Gel Maker had cured to be as hard as a rock and when I pulled on my cooler to remove it from the processor it pulled the CPU out of the socket of my motherboard when it was locked down. I was NOT happy about this at all. Upon inspection there were a few bent pins that I was luckily able to straighten out no problem. Even still, whenever thermal paste finished curing it shouldn't be that solid and I am surprised that it still conducted heat as well as it did because of how stiff it was, it was like cement!

Overall Review: I would not recommend this product over some of the other products out there. It was one of the best for temps that I have used but it was terrible to work with when it was time to remove the cooler from the CPU. I have been building PCs for close to 11 years now and that was the first time this has happened to me. I will be using this paste on my family's computers because it is better than any of the pre-applied thermal paste on their prebuilt rigs but I will not use it on my own anymore because every 6 months I disassemble my computer for a deep cleaning and I don't want to run into the same scenario again.

No Complaints!

G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C16D-8GVK

Pros: This is a solid RAM kit that uses Samsung E Die chips. It's dual rank so it works wonderfully with Ryzen and is a solid purchase in today's RAM market

Cons: none.

Overall Review: I may order a second on of these kits to populate my other two ram slots when I can afford to do so. I've never had a stick of G.SKILL ram ever show up DOA or die over time

Great motherboard for the price!

ASRock AB350 Pro4 AM4 AMD Promontory B350 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard
ASRock AB350 Pro4 AM4 AMD Promontory B350 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: The VRMs on the board are top notch compared to most other B350 boards out there and even a lot of the X370 and X470 motherboards out there. They have good heatsinks on them and in combination with a great airflow case (RL06) and a good top-down cooler (Wraith Prism) the VRMs never get above 70c with a Ryzen 2200G OC'd to 3.9GHz ay 1.36875 volts. The voltage delivered to the CPU is accurate with no random spikes and LLC was not needed to keep the processor stable on this board. I love the colors of the board and the PCI slots are nice and sturdy as well. The RGB headers are a nice touch but I have more on those later.

Cons: RGB header not properly controlling my Wraith Prism. It hooks up just fine and all but I can only change the color of the fan itself and not the ring around it. It's kind of a dumb reason to dock an egg in my opinion but I'm doing it anyway.

Overall Review: Other than the weird RGB issue with my cooler there has been no downsides to this board at all. It is made well, has a very easy to learn and use BIOS and my ram was able to run at its rated 3200Mhz without any issues whatsoever
