ASUS Z87-EXPERT LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS Z87-EXPERT LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: substantial heatsinks and sturdy contruction. it really surprised me how heavy this board is. well thought out layout. runs my crossfired 6970 cards at 8x,8x top two slots. at stock clocks i am getting great small size file transfers with 4 vertor ssds in raid 0, larger sized file transfer have reached 1.7GB/s !! my H100 closed water loop fit without and issue and your need water to keep a K haswell cool above 1.20v when o.c. ing. AI suite III gives you access to any tweaking you need to do. by far the best ufi bios i have seen. fine grained individual fan header speed control. power options from tree hugger to topgun, unbelievable how much you can take control of in this bios. this board is worth the cost

Cons: did not come with the latest bios but was very easy to flash. go slow and take you time if using the included driver dvd, i clicked too fast and ended up with an asus setup error at bootup but that was also easily fixed using task scheduler to delete the asus i install file.

Overall Review: o.c. ing is very easy on this board with very minimal tweaking needed. i'll update if any issues arise.

Most Critical Review

the software is getting better

Creative Sound Blaster Z PCIe 116dB SNR Gaming Sound Card with 600 ohm Headphone Amp and Beamforming Microphone
Creative Sound Blaster Z PCIe 116dB SNR Gaming Sound Card with 600 ohm Headphone Amp and Beamforming Microphone

Pros: finally creative builds some software that is not broken and fragile. sounds decent and software offers many tweaking options.

Cons: no color coding on the ports, i have several machines i switch out often and had to label the ports as i use 5.1 and a mic. could not get my older games to recognize eax even though the card specs say it is has it.

Overall Review: not worth the money unless your running a low end motherboard with entry level realtech.

Really nice aluminum framed mechanical keyboard with a great texture on the keys/space bar.

Corsair K70 RGB PRO Wired Mechanical Gaming Keyboard (Cherry MX RGB Brown Switches: Linear and Fast, 8,000Hz Hyper-Polling, PBT Double-Shot PRO Keycaps, Soft-Touch Palm Rest) QWERTY, NA - Black

Overall Review: The first thing i noticed about this board was the great texture on all the keys and space bar, not grippy but not slippery. Corsair's website says this board has a two year warranty, you'll need to visit their site to get the operating manual and CUE software (to save macros, play around with led colors/effects); https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Gaming-Keyboards/RGB-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboards/K70-RGB-PRO-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard/p/CH-9109414-NA#tab-downloads I could not get the QUE software to install on my preferred Win7 machine and found out after a quick chat with Corsair that QUE is only compatible with Win10. After moving this board to my Win10 machine QUE installed fine but i didn't get options to save macros/play with led colors and effects. A short while later a window popped up asking if i wanted to update the boards firmware, i updated (version v.1.2.18) and after a re-boot QUE was functioning. The QUE software is not very intuitive but there are tutorials within the software and i was able to figure features out without too much trouble. An added bonus of the QUE software is that it displays device temps/fan speeds. The font Corsair uses on this board took a bit to get used to but it was not a hard transition. I am enjoying this keyboard and turns out i prefer Cherry MX Brown switches (used on this board) over the reds I've been using for years. For anyone curious about Cherry switches and their specs; https://www.cherrymx.de/en/cherry-mx/mx-original/mx-brown.html

This powerline internet kit works great.

devolo Magic 2 LAN triple Starter Kit
devolo Magic 2 LAN triple Starter Kit

Pros: *Really easy to connect without any setup. *Decent speed.

Overall Review: *Really simple to install; have your Ethernet cables plugged into these adapters being sure they are long enough (2-6 foot cables included), plug the three port unit into the wall power receptacle where your computer is and connect Ethernet cable into PC (there are 3 ports so up to 3 devices can be connected). Plug the single port adapter into the wall power receptacle near your router, plug Ethernet cable into router and when the LED turns steady white on the adapter you're done. *For testing i used two computers 40 feet from the router and both connected though this Devolo powerline starter kits 3 port adapter. I transferred a 5.52GB file (pics/videos/drivers/apps) from one computer to the other in 3 minutes, 46 seconds which equates to 195Mb/s. Using an online internet speedtest site this powerline kit gave me 123Mb/s. In comparison an Ethernet cable directly to my router (at the same distance) gave me 232Mb/s. *In closing this is a great kit for those who can't get a strong wireless connection or can't run Ethernet cables to a needed location. The only thing i would change is the size of the adapters. Even though they both adapters have a 115volt receptacle the units partially cover over a standard duplex (dual) wall receptacle enough that you run the danger of unplugging the adapter if using a three prong plug.

Crucial did a nice job on this SSD

Crucial P5 Plus M.2 2280 1TB PCI-Express 4.0 x4 NVMe 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CT1000P5PSSD8
Crucial P5 Plus M.2 2280 1TB PCI-Express 4.0 x4 NVMe 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CT1000P5PSSD8

Pros: -Great sequential performance, great medium to large size file transfer and exceptional response times.

Overall Review: This drive was tested on a MSI B450 AM4 gaming board. Win10/board didn't recognize it on boot so i went to Win10 storage spaces/create a storage space which quickly formatted the drive and showed 930GB available space. Going back to devices and drives the SSD showed as 928GB available. As i stated in the "pros" above: the seq, med/large file transfers and response times are impressive. It would have been nice to see some better performance in the smaller file transfer times and some lower temps of the unit (i saw a high temp of 32C) but those are not cons to me when factoring in the price. Thank you for your time and thank you NewEgg for sending this drive to me for review.

Very nice construction with a 10 year warranty

CORSAIR RM Series RM750 CP-9020195-NA 750 W ATX12V v2.52 / EPS12V v2.92 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Power Supply
CORSAIR RM Series RM750 CP-9020195-NA 750 W ATX12V v2.52 / EPS12V v2.92 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Power Supply

Pros: ~all the connectors fit nice and snug. ~on a fairly power hungry system (Ryzen 7 2700X, asus GTX 570) voltage using a fluke multimeter; 12v=12.04V 5v=5.08V OTHER~ only one molex connector cable included with 4 molex connectors. if your system has a lot of case fans or legacy drives you may need to purchase a second molex cable.

Overall Review: ~really well engineered, from the aesthetics to the quiet fan and efficient heat sinking frame. ~10 year warranty. ~fully modular with fantastic pci-e video card cabling options in the box. enough cables for dual video cards even if both have dual 8 pins power connection.
