The best AM4 Board that money can buy

ASUS ROG Crosshair VII Hero AM4 AMD X470 ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS ROG Crosshair VII Hero AM4 AMD X470 ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: - Has a built in performance enhancer. While that sounds generic, it actually serves a purpose. This Utility in the BIOS will force your 2700X to maximum boost clocks regardless of temps, or other variables. Thus your 2700X will feature a 4.1Ghz all core boost. - Has new reworked VRM's from the CH VI. This allows the VRM's to run at much lower temps. Reviews quote the VRMs at 58C. Well below the typical rating of 125C top allowed temps for VRM's. - Responsive support. There are threads around on the internet of which ASUS is very responsive to user reports. They will assist you the best they can, and let you help with Beta Bios's there. -eCLCK overclocking. Has asynch ref clock overclocking. Allows you to overclock your CPU FSB without affecting PCIE bus speed. It currently adds a few ns of latency to the memory, but they are looking into resolving that. -Just know that if you buy this board there was no expense spared in any process manufacturing this. -Easy CMOS clear button in the back. Already used it. Worked like a charm.

Cons: - None thus far

Overall Review: - Ideally X470 will continue to support Ryzen through Ryzen 3000 (Zen 2). This board should have VRM's beefy enough to handle any Ryzen 3000 CPU once they arrive in a year.

Not so Great

Creative 70SB073A00000 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer

Pros: It works.

Cons: Software is terrible. The card didnt fit in my case properly i had to take off the silver cover to hide the inside of the case, it came with 2, one was too short, 1 was too long. Because i had to do that it moves in my case, sometimes when im playing and it freezes my system.

Overall Review: Its no better than on board sound.

Most Stable AM4 Board Currently

BIOSTAR X370GT7 AM4 AMD X370 USB 3.1 HDMI ATX Motherboards - AMD
BIOSTAR X370GT7 AM4 AMD X370 USB 3.1 HDMI ATX Motherboards - AMD

Pros: - Colorful - Quick BIOS updates released -Stable!! - Decent Memory support currently.

Cons: - Overclocking isn't as simple as i'd like it, but it is there. -M.2. SSD is only SATA, and is limited to 500Mbps

Overall Review: This board currently seems to be the unsung best buy of AM4 motherboards. While other boards are getting BIOS updates that brick them, this board remains stable. I have performed 4 BIOS updates so far, and none of them have caused ANY instability. Do not attribute the slower than advertised memory speeds reached to BIOSTAR. This is because AMD has not released proper microcode yet. That being said with 4 Single Rank sticks of RAM i am hitting 2666Mhz, which is better than most boards. The free M.2. SSD is the Biostar branded M200. It is SATA, and not PCIE. It will cap out at the SATA interface of 6Gbps/500MBps. It is pre-installed, and does not come in a separate box. This is an update to a previous review. BIOSTAR replied to my review so i was not able to edit it, but their response was GREAT, and provided me exactly what i needed. +Rep to them.

Support AMD Please

AMD Ryzen 7 1st Gen - RYZEN 7 1700X Summit Ridge (Zen) 8-Core 3.4 GHz (3.8 GHz Turbo) Socket AM4 95W YD170XBCAEWOF Desktop Processor
AMD Ryzen 7 1st Gen - RYZEN 7 1700X Summit Ridge (Zen) 8-Core 3.4 GHz (3.8 GHz Turbo) Socket AM4 95W YD170XBCAEWOF Desktop Processor

Pros: - 8 TRUE Cores. - IPC within 5-7% of the competitor - Supporting someone other than the competitor

Cons: - HPET which is required for Ryzen Master causes latency which reduces performance by 5-8% currently. (This is expected to be fixed with patches, and updated BIOS') - SMT currently is not recognized by windows correctly. Currently windows identifies this as a 16 Physical Core CPU, and schedules tasks improperly. IE if it uses 2 cores it could possibly send 2 tasks to the same core through SMT. (This should be resolved with a windows update soon i would think.) -Overclocking is limited. This is because the processor was manufactured on the LPP node. This node is more efficient for power savings for processors like the snapdragon CPU's in cellphones. It is honestly a miracle they could manufacture this chip on that node let alone reach the clock speeds they did. (Do not hold this against AMD. They have no control over which fab's GloFo makes)

Overall Review: Once all of the kinks are fixed with SMT and HPET this will only be 5-8% slower than the competitor in almost all tasks. Except AVX512, but that is still years away. If you use handbrake, or any type of encoding Ryzen is the way to go. If you game, you could still roll with the competitor for the 3 extra FPS, but you'd be giving up 4C/8T to get that 3 extra FPS.

Easy Setup - Decent Sound

Creative Sound Blaster Omni Surround 5.1 USB Sound Card with 600ohm Headphone Amp and Integrated Microphone
Creative Sound Blaster Omni Surround 5.1 USB Sound Card with 600ohm Headphone Amp and Integrated Microphone

Pros: Better sound quality than the motherboard More options to change the sound to your preferences. If you've owned a Creative product before you should be aware. It provides the Crystalizer, the bass boost, etc. All the good stuff.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: I would recommend this over a PCIE soundcard due to how easy it is to use.

Great Monitor

HP Pavilion 27xi Silver / Black 27" 7ms IPS HDMI LED Backlight LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 10,000,000:1

Pros: -Glossy -Sleek Look -Able to calibrate how you would like -Not too bright -I like the menu buttons. They are touch.

Cons: -Pixel Pitch, only 1080P

Overall Review: Good monitor for the 299.98 USD that i paid for it.
