Failing after 9 months
Pros: It seemed like a pretty good price for a backup drive.
Cons: I have been using it for Mac Time Machine backups for 9 months in an external "toaster". It periodically makes noises that something is grinding or scraping. I have to but a new drive because I can't rely on a 2TB drive that is making noises.
Overall Review: I would not want to ever buy a drive that is noisy.
Could not recognize or format drive
Pros: None. Does not work.
Cons: Tried drive in a brand new (powered) SATA enclosure and also in a known working Sabrent USB to SATA/IDE Hard Drive Adapter. Tried laptop with Windows 7 and Vista on different computers. Drive got partially recognized, since OS indicated "drivers being installed" but could not see drive with Windows Explorer. Immediately tried a known good drive and that worked fine. Seagate 750 Gig drive is not working on arrival. I'll go back to the Western Digital Scorpio Black 750 Gig. A little more money, but it worked.
