THE processor in this price range.

AMD Phenom II X4 960T - Phenom II X4 Zosma Quad-Core 3.0 GHz Socket AM3 95W Desktop Processor - HD96ZTWFGRBOX
AMD Phenom II X4 960T - Phenom II X4 Zosma Quad-Core 3.0 GHz Socket AM3 95W Desktop Processor - HD96ZTWFGRBOX

Pros: Where to start... --- x4 with a chance of x6 - anecdotal evidence shows a... --- VERY good unlock rate (mine went x6 no problems) --- OC's like a CHAMP - just look at the numbers some people have gotten with this chip - mid-5GHz's and 7GHz with sub zero cooling...WHAT THE EFF?? --- IT'S A THUBAN. For like $120 bucks. /thread --- Price:performance ratio is absurd

Cons: --- LOVES high voltage and low temps. If you can baby this chip, it will give you the world. If not, you may be frustrated by not achieving what it seems to be capable of. --- Can run quite hot at x6, especially OC'd, with sub-average cooling --- May not unlock (you're paying for an x4 anyways, so this isn't really a con)

Overall Review: Please note - this chip is a THUBAN core, which means it has a THUBAN IMC, which you won't find ANYWHERE for this price. Regardless of whether or not your 2 extra cores are unlockable or stable, you get the benefit of the Thuban IMC, native 1600MHz. That being said, if it does unlock, it usually will want a LOT of vCore and that means HEAT. Keep it cool and it will keep you happy. Just check the threads at the overclocker forums to read the happy stories about this chip - I assure you there are a lot of them. This chip exemplifies what AMD has always done best - YES, a 2500k is going to perform better (no sh!t, Sherlock), but this chip performs EXTREMELY WELL at an absurd price. I run as an x6 when converting video and x4 most of the rest of the time, and my 960T is a champ - my pride and joy. Do yourself a favor and buy one.

CORSAIR CX Series CX500 500W 80 PLUS BRONZE Active PFC ATX12V & EPS12V Power Supply

Pros: Worked well for my needs for its (short) life span

Cons: Fan was slightly louder than I'd have liked for a 500w, but it's on the cheaper end of the Corsair spectrum, so no surprise I guess.

Overall Review: I was attracted to this PSU because of the price:wattage ratio and the good brand name. I expect high quality components from a Corsair PSU. The warranty helped with peace of mind. That said, when you purchase something with a warranty, you don't usually assume it will DIE at the end of said warranty, you just know you are covered for that time. Mine lasted only 8 or so weeks after the warranty ran it's course, and that's pretty frustrating and disappointing coming from Corsair.

Pros: Solid build High quality components Feature set of a much higher price bracket OC's extremely well Included VRM heatsink is a Godsend

Cons: None

Overall Review: Just look at the features list for a list of pros - this board does almost everything, and everything it does, it does right. 6+2 power phase, UEFI is quite fully featured - all core unlocker/auto OC features work perfectly (although I prefer to control things exactly, which the UEFI also allows). Potential for lots of USB 3.0 throughput at a time when it was still new - and the price is only going to go down. I build a wholly new system for this board and it accepted every component without a hiccup. When testing my OC's the Dr. Debug LED sometimes made me tip my head like a confused puppy - some of the codes are either NOT in the manual at all, or make little sense - but 95% of the time I could figure out just what the issue was and learned my way around how the codes behaved. SLI and Xfire...cmon. Buy this board, and save yourself the trouble of the 15+ hours of research I did. I looked at the 2 other big boards in this bracket/chipset, the GigaByte and the ASUS - this is the o

SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card (100314-3L )

Pros: Performs extremely well for it's price bracket (I paid about $140) Stays cool enough under load OC's well for me up to 950MHz GPU/1200Mhz Memory with no voltage adjustments

Cons: Fan gets loud in SOME situations

Overall Review: Fan can be loud at 70%+, but I've never experienced fan speeds that high except under extreme stress testing and synthetic benchmarking applications. Rarely goes above 50% in gaming/rendering. I'm starting to think about getting another one, but since this was so cheap, it's more likely I'll get an upgrade and X-fire it with this.

Pros: Great price Very high OC headroom for standard sticks Easy rebate Great performance

Cons: None

Overall Review: I've gotten up to ~12 GB/s bandwidth on MAXXMem with these sticks. OC'd to 1920 MHz without issue (!!!!) @ 9-11-11-28. I keep them at 1600 @ 8-9-9-24 1T normally. This is pretty absurd for $20 for 8 gigs of RAM (had a nice rebate attached).

Pros: Great price Standard quality No problems

Cons: Slight door opening delay

Overall Review: Does it's job. I didn't notice any ridiculous noise level using this. Not incredibly fast, but it was like $15 bucks.
