Get a 1TB instead as the thru put is noticeably faster on large writes

SAMSUNG 980 PRO M.2 2280 500GB PCI-Express Gen 4.0 x4, NVMe 1.3c Samsung V-NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-V8P500B/AM
SAMSUNG 980 PRO M.2 2280 500GB PCI-Express Gen 4.0 x4, NVMe 1.3c Samsung V-NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-V8P500B/AM

Pros: -Samsung quality -good performance for the most part -if you use these in a 2 or more NVME RAID 0, the data rates are much smoother and consistent.

Cons: -pricey

Overall Review: should have bought a 1TB drive instead for the OS boot UPDATE 8/27/21: bought 2 of the 1TB versions for RAID0... the 1TB versions are faster than the 500GB model normally...used in AMD motherboard raid0, I consistently get 9000 to 12000 GB/s in CrystalMark tests.... very nice!!!

Most Critical Review

Corsair ia a good brand

CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB 260-Pin DDR4 SO-DIMM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Laptop Memory Model CMSX8GX4M1A3200C22
CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB 260-Pin DDR4 SO-DIMM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Laptop Memory Model CMSX8GX4M1A3200C22

Pros: Vengeance memory has worked on all my systems so far. Does not work with a NUC11 though.

Cons: Does not work with a NUC11

Overall Review: Intel NUCs keep changing and also causing issues, such as memory compatibility issues and not playing well with KVM switches. Vengence memory is usually very reliable.

Works with MUC11 systems

Crucial 16GB 260-Pin DDR4 SO-DIMM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Laptop Memory Model CT16G4SFRA32A 1Rx8
Crucial 16GB 260-Pin DDR4 SO-DIMM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Laptop Memory Model CT16G4SFRA32A 1Rx8

Pros: compatible with NUC11 systems

Cons: none

Overall Review: Crucial makes decent memory

Almost perfect (updated 3/13/22)

IOGEAR GCS1934H 4-Port 4K KVMP Switch with HDMI Connection, USB 3.0 Hub, and Audio (TAA)
IOGEAR GCS1934H 4-Port 4K KVMP Switch with HDMI Connection, USB 3.0 Hub, and Audio (TAA)

Pros: -Quality construction -Good image quality -No problems switching between computers... (update 3/13/22) ...mostly -keyboard (Logitech G11) / mouse (Microsoft wired/wireless) work OK. However I am using an old model gaming keyboard.

Cons: - a 4-10 sec delay when switching between computers (This didn't happen with my previous 2K IOGEAR KVM and 2K monitor) (update 3/13/22) The 10 sec delay is when switching to an Intel NUC10 PC... this is apparently a NUC PC driver issue or something related, also any open windows do not stay the same size when switching back. Also happens with other 4K monitors ( AOC U3277PWQU) -All cables are the same 6ft length...so you have a lot of extra coiled or dangling cables if the PC's are close to the KVM. - if all computers/monitor are off, at first power up of a PC, the screen blanks (4-5 sec. each time) several times over several minutes then becomes stable. After that everything works normally. (update 3/13/22) This problem only now occasionally happens but has not gone away. NOTE: I have a new 42" ASUS XG438 4K monitor and this may be a monitor issue... haven't sorted this out yet. (update 3/13/22) Not an ASUS only issue. (update 3/13/22) - I have really come to HATE the push buttons on this KVM. They are not tactile and you have to look at the lights to see if it switched properly. Also the beep sound when switching is not loud enough to be easily heard... especially with multiple PCs running. The sound volume is not adjustable that I can see.

Overall Review: (update 3/13/22) -I have had good luck with 4 different types of IOGEAR KVM's and would NOT buy this unit again... mainly because of the buttons. I will likely go to an ATEN KVM instead and they also use EDID on the video signal to ensure the PC desktops stay the way they are set up after switching back. NOTE: I plan to put another monitor on this KVM, to see if the blanking issue goes away. If it does I will update this review. (I did this and the switching delay did not change, so this must be a function of this KVM. (I have NOT changed the rating of this KVM as the quality if the video signal is quite good with no jittering or other issues and if you can live with the buttons.)

Not reliable unless you have quality, short cable

Mini Pcie to Pcie Adapter M.2 Module with Mini-SAS HD (SFF-8643) 36-Pin Connector for U.2 (SFF-8639) NVMe SSD (Upward miniSAS) - Support Intel 750 2.5-inch U.2 SFF SSD
Mini Pcie to Pcie Adapter M.2 Module with Mini-SAS HD (SFF-8643) 36-Pin Connector for U.2 (SFF-8639) NVMe SSD (Upward miniSAS) - Support Intel 750 2.5-inch U.2 SFF SSD

Pros: alternate use of an internal NVME slot.

Cons: card does not have I/O buffer chips to amplify PCIE signal.

Overall Review: relatively expensive for a PCB with only a connector. Won't bother buying another one.

Noctua quality

Noctua NF-A8 PWM, Premium Quiet Fan, 4-Pin (80mm, Brown)
Noctua NF-A8 PWM, Premium Quiet Fan, 4-Pin (80mm, Brown)

Pros: -very quiet, even at full speed -comes with a fan Y cable

Cons: -According to ASUS fan expert the fan minimum speed only goes down to 30%. Perhaps this is normal, but I have had non PWM fans go down to 10%

Overall Review: -Have bought 80,120,140mm versions and all have performed very well.

Bought a second 4GB

only slightly slower than a Firecuda 530 according to CrystalMark Still a bit pricey, so if I buy another one, I'll wait for the prices to go down a bit more.
