Great Performance

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 - Core 2 Quad Yorkfield Quad-Core 2.83 GHz LGA 775 95W Desktop Processor - BX80569Q9550
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 - Core 2 Quad Yorkfield Quad-Core 2.83 GHz LGA 775 95W Desktop Processor - BX80569Q9550

Pros: I do a lot of rendering with Cinema 4D and this increased my render times some 130%! It more than doubled the output of my Intel C2D e6600. Currently my Q9550 is overclocked to 3.3GHz and stays about 10 degrees cooler than my OC'ed e6600 at the same speed, which is directly related to the new 45nm fab process I suspect. It's amazing how the power of my computer instantly doubled just by adding a new chip and upgrading my bios. I couldn't be happier with it.

Cons: The only con I can think of is that it doesn't really help with gaming. But that's not a problem with the chip, but with the game developers. Eventually more and more games will utilize more cores, but as of now there are only a few which really benefit.

Overall Review: For those working in 3D rendering this chip is a MUST HAVE. Especially now that it's so cheap! Games will benefit only a little, so it's probably best to stick with a high-clock Core2duo for now if all you want it for is gaming. And, as always, if this helped you in any way hit the 'YES' button below!

They work

Antec 761345-75026-4 Red LED 3-Speed Case Cooling Fan
Antec 761345-75026-4 Red LED 3-Speed Case Cooling Fan

Pros: These fans are quiet and emit a nice red glow. Recently I found that my parent's computer fans all died (2 year old antec case with generic antec 120mm fans). The box was getting hot to the touch. I put 3 of these in -- One in the front blowing in, the top and back fans blowing out. Case is nice and cool. All three are operating at the 'medium' setting, and more than a few feet away from the case I can't hear them at all. And if you like the color red, these are a solid buy.

Cons: None so far. But it's only been a day! I only gave it 4 stars because they don't reinvent the fan or anything, but they work good.

Overall Review: My parent's computer has run basically non-stop for two years. The fans in the case lasted about 1.5 years before they started to make noise, which is pretty impressive, especially considering how much dust goes through it due to its position on the ground in a high-traffic area.

Great!

Sennheiser CX300B 3.5mm Connector Canal Headphone
Sennheiser CX300B 3.5mm Connector Canal Headphone

Pros: After buying a pair of these in-ear canal headphones I'll never go back to the 'loose' fitting ear buds. I ride a train and walk through the city a lot and it blocks out outside noise beautifully. Be sure to wear the correct size earbud, the larger the better. The medium sized ones fit farther into your ear but the larger ones block out more sound and provide more base because of the way it's pressed into your ear.

Cons: Sometimes pressure builds in your ear and it's uncomfortable, but that only happens rarely and for a reason that eludes me. Most of the time they're super comfortable. Also, my second pair I bought (I'm on my third) had a faulty earbud that sounded muffled -- sent in back to Sennheiser under warranty and they sent me another at no charge. Also, it's very hard to find good information on these things. The exact same headphones range from $30 to $90 on some sites, which I don't understand.

Overall Review: It took me a while to figure out how to wear them. Make sure the soft rubber earpiece is on correctly or you'll try and jam them half way to your brain before they sound right. Best headphones I've ever owned! Sound is crisp, clear, and full of wonderful bass.

Frequency Response

Sennheiser CX400B Canal Black Noise-Isolating Headphones
Sennheiser CX400B Canal Black Noise-Isolating Headphones

Pros: I don't actually own these, but the lack of technical data really bothers me. So here it is: Frequency response 17 - 21000 Hz, Cable length: Symmetric (earphone -> separator: 300 mm; separator -> plug: 300 mm). 1 m extension cable. Impedance: 16 Ohm ,THD: total harmonic distortion = < 0.2 %, Sound pressure level (SPL): 113 dB (1 kHz, 1 Vrms),Jack plug: 3.5 mm gold plug, Ear coupling: intraaural (ear canal fit),Transducer principle: dynamic

Cons: It's hard to justify paying more for these over the CX300 just because it comes with an extension cable.

Overall Review: If I were you I'd shop around for a nice pair of CX300's. The sound quality is pretty much identical (technically), and you can get CX300's for around $35usd.

Great!

RiDATA 4.7GB 4X DVD+RW 10 Packs Spindle Disc Model DRW+474-RD10
RiDATA 4.7GB 4X DVD+RW 10 Packs Spindle Disc Model DRW+474-RD10

Pros: Despite my "Average Understanding" in this particular subject matter, I'm assuming that the only REAL understanding you need is whether or not these things work well. I've used maybe 15 of these, many of which I've erased and re-used (the beauty of RW!). I've had not one little problem with them. It will take and playback anything I can throw at them. Another Pro is that they're amazingly cheap. A buck a DVD is half as much as you'll find in a store.

Cons: They come in a spindle, not in little individual wrappers. Even those little paper sleeves would have been better. I already have a CD case that can protect them, so this con is moot.

Overall Review: I wish I found these a long time ago.

Very nice

ZALMAN CNPS9700 LED 110mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler
ZALMAN CNPS9700 LED 110mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler

Pros: I overclocked my e6600 to 3ghz before I got this fan, the temps hovered around 70c at full load. Now they stay between 43-47c, which means I can push it a little farther and still be OK. It also comes with a little device that gets mounted outside the case that lets you manually control the speed of the fan, which is more handy than you think.

Cons: IT's kind of a pain to hook up. There are brackets that screw on to both sides of the motherboard -- with all that handling, make sure you don't shock your mobo with static or lance it with a screwdriver! It's worth it though.

Overall Review: I can't contribute all the cooling to simply just this fan. I also bought an Antec 900 case that has lots of fans and allows air to flow easily. So, use this fan in conjunction with a nice case and you'll get some good overclocks.
