Seagate IronWolf 12TB NAS Hard Drive 7200 RPM 256MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s CMR 3.5" Internal HDD for RAID Network Attached Storage ST12000VN0008

Pros: - Reliable - Large - Good value

Cons: - None so far

Overall Review: - These drives have been fast and reliable. I’ve purchased four. The first two I’ve been running for over a year with no trouble and I just bought two more. In my mind reliability (having no trouble) is the ultimate criterion when rating a hard drive.

LaView has abandonded this product--you cannot connect it to your router.

LaView HD 1080P Indoor Wi-Fi Security Camera with Two-Way Audio, Night Vision and Remote View, 2MP Resolution Indoor Baby Monitoring (SD Card Not Included)
LaView HD 1080P Indoor Wi-Fi Security Camera with Two-Way Audio, Night Vision and Remote View, 2MP Resolution Indoor Baby Monitoring (SD Card Not Included)

Pros: I've used this camera for several years. Worked well to peek in my office after hours.

Cons: I thought these guys must have gone out of business since the app doesn't work any more and there is no support. Then I couldn't believe to see that these cameras are still selling brand new! I only discovered this as I decided to try and connect the camera to my NAS after my memory card in the camera went bad. Once I disconnected the camera from my network and tried to reconnect, I couldn't! The only way to connect the camera to the network is through the app and the app hasn't been updated for years and is now useless. Apart from this, even when the app did work, it didn't let you decide when to record. The only options are to record always or to use motion detection (which when triggers only recorded for 5 seconds and then let whatever activity continue without recording it).

Overall Review: Bottom line: The camera cannot connect to a network because they need to update the app. Incompatible with iOS 14.4 as of this review.

Just Transferred 838GB in 12m

SAMSUNG 980 PRO M.2 2280 2TB PCIe Gen 4.0 x4, NVMe 1.3c Samsung V-NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-V8P2T0B/AM
SAMSUNG 980 PRO M.2 2280 2TB PCIe Gen 4.0 x4, NVMe 1.3c Samsung V-NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-V8P2T0B/AM

Pros: - Fast: I just added this 980 Pro to my system and saw speeds up to 1.8GB/s while transferring 838GB of data from my 1Tb Samsung 970 EVO NVMe. - Easy: So fast to install and set up. Took me 5 minutes to install. 5 more to partition, over-provision, and test. I already had Samsung Magician installed.

Cons: - Nothing so far.

Overall Review: - It was a joy to upgrade my file system speed and capacity. Everything I hoped it would be.

Pros: This does the job. - Compact - Durable (for plastic and cable) - Doesn't do anything weird I don't think about this adapter. It just goes everywhere in my laptop bag and does its job when it is supposed to.

Overall Review: This does what it is supposed to: It gives you an Ethernet port and a USB hub at the same time.

Material quality: Looks nice, feels nice, and works great.

Fractal Design Ion+ 660P 80 PLUS Platinum Certified 660W Full Modular Compact ATX Power Supply with UltraFlex Cables
Fractal Design Ion+ 660P 80 PLUS Platinum Certified 660W Full Modular Compact ATX Power Supply with UltraFlex Cables

Pros: I gave this psu a shot over other reputable brands since it was no more expensive (in fact, cheaper than many other modular psus) and it was a match for my Fractal Designs R6 case. This is my first modular psu and I love the ability to connect each power cable, one at a time in the most convenient sequence, and route them behind the motherboard through the case’s cable openings. It allowed me to create the most open, uncluttered build I’ve ever made (out of probably 8 or 9 at this point.) The cables are more flexible than traditional cables, feel silky smooth, and are easier to maneuver through cables and components. Everything just feels nicer than in any previous psu I’ve bought. The metal is brushed nicely and has no sharp corners, plus the psu comes packaged like they really care about the product—cushioned well and opening up like an Apple product. It even has a zipper carrying case (not that you’d ever need it—how often do you take out your psu??) It also came with a case for the cables, which actually is nice since I only used about half of the cables supplied and I have somewhere discreet to place them. The psu is very, very quiet. I let it disable the fan and I’ve had no trouble. I will never get close to maxing the wattage of this, so I can’t speak to how overclockers will rate it’s performance, but as far as being a beautiful, well-designed, well-packaged component that is nice to work with, I know of no equal.

Cons: None so far. I’m eager to see how it holds up.

Overall Review: Beautiful psu built and packaged with superior materials which looks and feels like someone really cared about the finished product.
