Intel Xeon E3-1230 V2 Ivy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo) 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1155 69W BX80637E31230V2 Server Processor
Intel Xeon E3-1230 V2 Ivy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo) 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1155 69W BX80637E31230V2 Server Processor

Pros: Fast. Price is right. If you were planning to build an Ivy Bridge i5 system, forget it and buy this instead. The only downside to this is the lack of on-chip video, but is that really even a downside?

Cons: Having to explain to your friends why you're running a Xeon.

Most Critical Review

Average LCD

KDS K-2237MDWB Black 21.6" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor w/ HDCP support 300cd/m2 1000:1 Built in Speakers
KDS K-2237MDWB Black 21.6" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor w/ HDCP support 300cd/m2 1000:1 Built in Speakers

Pros: The specs are good for the money. 1000:1 contrast, 16.7 million colors, etc. 3 inputs (1 DVI, 2 VGA)

Cons: Two stuck pixels on mine. One blue, another green. Only includes 1 VGA cable even though it has 3 inputs.

Overall Review: Pretty much average for such a low priced LCD. I tried to save a few bucks and got two stuck pixels in exchange for my penny-penching. If I had it to do again I'd spend a bit more on a Samsung or BenQ. I've owned several BenQ LCDs and never encountered a single stuck pixel, and then I buy this thing and get two stuck pixels on the same unit. A bit disappointed, to say the least.

NewEgg forces you do to this

Newegg Premier 12 Month Membership
Newegg Premier 12 Month Membership

Pros: You can actually shop at NewEgg again.

Cons: I think NewEgg intentionally makes EggSaver shipping as painful as possible to force people to sign up for premier. Who'd have though that in 2015 it could take more than 7 business days for an item to make it from California to Washington (state)?

Overall Review: NewEgg needs to get it together and modernize their operation so they can compete. Or else all NewEgg.com will be good for is HoverHound.

Good Bargain

Mushkin Enhanced Chronos 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MKNSSDCR120GB-7
Mushkin Enhanced Chronos 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MKNSSDCR120GB-7

Pros: I was looking for an inexpensive way to extend the useful life of a Dell Optiplex 755 and this was it. It's definitely not as fast as the Samsung EVOs that I have in my own machine, but it breathed new life into an otherwise aging Core 2 Duo machine with 4GB of memory.

Cons: None at this price point.

tight fit

Timbuk2 Sycamore Pack Night Blue/Pacific/Night Blue 386-3-4080 up to 15"
Timbuk2 Sycamore Pack Night Blue/Pacific/Night Blue 386-3-4080 up to 15"

Pros: Lifetime Warranty, Quality Construction

Cons: I have a Dell Inspiron 15r SE (7520). Based on the laptop compartment measurements and laptop-fit-checker on the Timbuk2 website I thought my laptop would slip right in. Well, it definitely does *not* 'slip right in' it is in fact *very* snug, but it does fit. Due to the snugness, getting the laptop in and out is not something I can do one handed, or as quickly as I would like.

Decent, but a bit bummed

Mushkin Enhanced Chronos 2.5" 240GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MKNSSDCR240GB
Mushkin Enhanced Chronos 2.5" 240GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MKNSSDCR240GB

Pros: Price/Capacity

Cons: Cheaper price means slower performance. I bought this to replace an aging 90 GB OCZ Vertex 3 so I could fit my entire Steam library on it and not have to manually move files between spinning disk and SSD when I decided to play a game I hadn't played in awhile. Anyhow, CrystalDiskMark before/after the drive swap showed the OCZ was clearly faster. However this is still "fast enough" and the higher capacity has certainly made it more convenient.

Overall Review: If I had it all to do again, I would have probably tried a Samsung 840 EVO instead.
