ASUS M4A79T Deluxe AM3 DDR3 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS M4A79T Deluxe AM3 DDR3 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Solid construction, nice copper headsinks for northbridge, etc. Works with fast ram, overclocked my Phenom II 720 to 3.6Ghz without a hitch.

Cons: Having to manually set DDR3 RAM to run at advertised speed (1600Mhz) is a bit unnecessary. I knew when I bought it that 1600Mhz is an "OC" voltage, but if it's supported, why not have it run that way at stock? Oh well, I suppose it's one way to keep the non-overclockers away from this board....?

Overall Review: Overall, nicely built, no complaints.

Good not great

Sennheiser MX685 Adidas SPORT Headphones
Sennheiser MX685 Adidas SPORT Headphones

Pros: Good sound, supposedly water resistant.

Cons: These hurt my ears after wearing them for more than 20-30 minutes. I have owned other Sennheiser and Adidas/Sennheiser earbuds, behind-the-head earphones, and studio style cans. These are good, but the least comfortable I have worn.

Overall Review: Please make a version of the PMX685i for Android.

It's Gud

Intel 730 Series 2.5" 480GB SATA 6Gb/s MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDSC2BP480G4R5
Intel 730 Series 2.5" 480GB SATA 6Gb/s MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDSC2BP480G4R5

Pros: I bought this in November 2014. This Drive is noticably faster than the Intel 330 240GB drive it replaced. Generally speaking, consumer SSDs have gotten very reliable over the last 6 years. Still, if one is hedging their bets, you cannot go wrong with Intel.

Cons: No cons for the drive its self. I would not recommend this drive to put in an older notebook. The power consumption is higher than cheaper drives such as the Crucial BX100 and the Samsung 850 EVO. That's not really a problem with the drive, but people should buy this for performance desktops or server type applications where the difference of 1 or 2 watts is not important.

Overall Review: I bought this drive for $185 - it was 199 and Google Wallet had a promo where they paid 15 dollars of your purchase. I would buy this drive again for a similar price or lower.

All the buttons

LOGITECH G502 Proteus Core Tunable Gaming Mouse #910-004074
LOGITECH G502 Proteus Core Tunable Gaming Mouse #910-004074

Pros: I ordered the G502 in Dec 2014. This mouse has been a joy to use. My previous (and still functioning) mouse was a G9X, also from Logitech. My reason for upgrading was to get a flawless sensor without the negative acceleration associated with laser sensors - I was unaware of sensor acceleration when I bought the G9X.

Cons: When I first got this mouse, I found myself clumsily hitting the DPI switching buttons (by default more than one of the eleven buttons will cycle between DPI presets). My solution was to delete all but one DPI profile in the Logitech Gaming Software utility. This may be an indictment of my coordination rather than mouse ergonomics.

Overall Review: I would recommend this mouse to anyone. The pictures make it look very angular and strange, but it is very comfortable to use.

CORSAIR Vengeance LP 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CML16GX3M2A1600C10B
CORSAIR Vengeance LP 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CML16GX3M2A1600C10B

Pros: I bought this memory set in April 2013. I've been running it with a 3570K at 4GHZ for most of that time, and at 4.6GHZ for a month now. No issues, Corsair knows their memory.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: Corsair has yet to let me down.

A real workhorse

AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition - Phenom II X6 Thuban 6-Core 3.2 GHz Socket AM3 125W Desktop Processor - HDT90ZFBGRBOX
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition - Phenom II X6 Thuban 6-Core 3.2 GHz Socket AM3 125W Desktop Processor - HDT90ZFBGRBOX

Pros: I bought this in June 2011 and used it until May 2013. This CPU is a classic - good value for great performance. This was my first unlocked full-power desktop processor, and I will always remember it fondly.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: This would not be a good buy today, but it was the bees leg joints 4 years ago. <3
